You can just about always count on a good to severe March snow storm around there. Looks like you got a good one this year. It is always refreshing the scenery before it gets hot. Thanks for sharing with us John, good luck with fixing the audio just the way you want it, I thank God that I can hear and understand you. Fred.

Boy you just love to play with that cat huh... Well, they are rather fun toys... Sorry my mind is on the snow.. how I miss it.. here in vancouver washington we don't get much.. I am a midwest boy and just enjoy the snow so much.. Well at a crippled 70 I guess it is for the best.. But thanks so much for sharing your snow with this old snowman..

Until now I never gave acoustic panels much thought, but they'd be useful cutting down forge noise reaching our farmhouse. Buying these panels will keep my beloved from verbally batting my ears. Many thanks John, and I hope your snow didn't worsen. Best, Wendi.

I don't know about the audio, but sure is a pretty country, especially after a snowfall...

made a difference in the reduction of ambient white noise if you recorded at the same exact volume and distance in both recordings. Ideally you want some behind your mic and off to the sides as well as behind you to catch any reflections from those areas. also, curtains over the windows will help because sound loves to bounce of glass.

IMHO it's a worthwhile addition as it does function as required. Good call on that one no doubt. Bless day Sir Crawford out 🙏🔥⚒️🧙🏼♂️

I could definitely hear the difference. I’m wondering how much is due to the carpet versus the panels though. I’m surprised to see that you only used two panels. I would have thought that you would need to cover the whole ceiling.

yup sounds gud

Your install shows you don't have to cover the ceiling to break up an echo. Really you should be able to make it better by softening only one surface in a pair but both does help. Sounds better here. Not dead, still lively. Hard to tell about the echo since it is not live to me and I only have one decent ear anyway.

Hi John, I couldn't tell the difference between before or after, my hearing is shot. Somethings good and others nothing, like smoke detectors, more than 5' away it can melt down and I wouldn't have a clue. Have the door open to the basement I hear the thermostat click on the electric water heater.
@johnpeter3662 жыл бұрын
how about an air gap behind the panels?

Hi John, Totally off the subject, but I have a blacksmithing question. I am looking into starting green wood working and I have a draw knife, but I need a Scorp as well. Do you think I could follow your draw knife video and just bend it over the horn to take the shape of a scorp? Or do you think there is more to it? Thanks.

Thats the general approach I would take, Then you just have to fine tune the process as you learn from the first attempt.
