The in-game journal that you can read has more story/plot than the actual game, so much so that the journal should have been implemented into cutscenes and conversations instead. The game itself doesn't have much of a story. You mainly time travel for menial tasks, snoop through peoples' things, and hella talk about random nonsense. The choices are pretty contrived as well. As far as I'm concerned, 'Life is Strange' is just another half-measure of "choice" games. Like, they wanted to make a choose-your-own-adventure style game but couldn't commit to the idea, so they shoehorn you down retarded paths and objectives. One scene in particular has you either interrupting a "bully" or taking a picture of said "bully" in the act, but you somehow can't do both, thus preventing any forced conflict? Or another scene where you leave a diner with your friend immediately, or answer a phone call, because you couldn't possibly answer the phone on the way out to the truck, thus preventing any forced conflict? They also should have sat down and thought about their 'time travel rules' for 5+ minutes, because it's used inconsistently and illogically, leading to more shoehorned and contrived situations. The time travel mechanic could have been used more creatively, and they should have added some restrictions to it, such as limiting the number of times you can rewind in a scene before you are stuck with a choice. The time travel mechanic simply feels like it's in the game more for people who have insecurities in their choices, than for actually being a time travel game.

You are right, infinite was a masterpiece and so was the first. But Bioshock 1 was designed to mess with the player's very expectations about what a video game is, the reliable narrator that betrays you, the mysterious phrase "would you kindly" that holds more weight than anyone ever expected, just the very idea that the player will buy into whatever the game tells them to do just to have it all pulled from beneath them in the most abrupt and ingenious plot twist in video game history. That is where Infinite will never live up to the first. Infinite is basically superior in every other regard(besides only holding two guns and no hacking) but when it comes to the story it falls just a couple inches short. Yes, it also had a a great twist, great characters, and a very deep mythos regarding the lighthouse, but unfortunately I wouldn't call it revolutionary. And by the way if you think the first bioshock was "shit" than you are insulting not only your intelligence, but your credibility, because the first is considered one of the most culturally significant games of all time for its social commentary and story. Thats not my opinion, that is just plain fact...

SOMA is an easy top pick for me. Ive never been more immersed in such a complex, challenging, and ultimately terrifying story in a game ever. The final act had me picking me jaw off the floor to such an amazing conclusion. Other favorite storylines in games are Halo (Bungies), Half Life, The Witcher, Bioshock, and Dark Souls.

Because Dark Souls is a continues Boss Battle. :D You are not getting much story from within the game. Here and there is a little dialog, or sometimes a letter can be found, but noone ever played Dark Souls because of it's rich story. Without the Wikia of Dark Souls I would not know who most of the bosses and characters within the game even are.

LOL, if you search the story... you find it.. There is 80% of the story of the game in the items you recieve. The other 20% is in what all people say. I know there are things that are way too complicated to think of them without checking wikia but yeah.. you can get at least 70% of the story alone just by reading the description of all items.

Svetoslav Lalev It does not matter that you can find everything in the game. The delivery is awful. You can spoonfeed someone the story, but you can give the player so few to work with that you just do not care for the story. Again. I played the game for second time before I saw the inscription of Sif until I got the story of him. Up to this point Sif was just a boss like anyone else except he was a wolf. If you expect the player to find 99% of the story on his own than it could be that you could have a nice story if you just knew how to tell one. World of Warcraft has awesome and extensive lore. Ever heard of someone who told you how awesome the story of the game is? I tell you. Noone. First it is an mmo, but even for an mmo they are doing an awful job on how to deliver their story. Everything has a wikiapage, but you are left with a few quests that tell you stuff or you have to read,read and read more until you walked past thousands of super important lore connected places without even noticing. In the Souls game you have an extensive lore, but no story what so ever. Lore and story are fundamentally different.
