I think Brock at Rockhill did a good toothbar comparison. He tested 3 bars and decided that the piranha was his favorite. But he also laid out the plusses and minuses of each. Great job on the mod!

I made a grapple from scratch without a plate, angles aren’t that bad. That said, I use a piranha for my BX. It’s solid enough that it is fine for back dragging. Not as aggressive as some. I use smaller surfaces if I need max leverage.

Dang, that’s pretty ugly, I’d have used some flat stock to modify and avoid the weight of the extra steel. Good that you saved it though.

I would also suggest adding some bracing from the top of the bucket to the top of the adapter plate above the SAQA. There will be quite a bit of stress when lifting heavy loads in the bucket. Love the channel.

The Piranha is absolutely amazing and back dragging with it is very good. High angle back dragging is relatively aggressive and low angle back dragging will give a smooth finish.

Man, don't kid yourself, you are definitely a tractor influencer!! Great job on the bucket but too bad your grinder lost its magic smoke. As far as a tooth bar goes, it depends on the kind of soil you have. Watch comparison videos from people in your area or with similar soil to see what works best. They all have strengths and weaknesses and you just might find the Kubota straight bar would do the best job.

As soon as I heard your grinder turn on, I knew it wasn't long for this world. If your looking to replace the grinder, The Harbor Freight 8 amp is excellent for the money. I have had just about every make grinder over the years and have burned up just about all of them. 3 years ago I bought the 8 amp and have used and abused it. I was so impressed I bought a second one a year later. As my name brands die, I will replace them with this unit. My Craftsman, one of the last holdouts, is making the same noise so today I will go buy another one. They are on sale for $30. I have have 5 grinders, each with a different implement of destruction mounted up.

We went with the BXPanded tooth bar. It is sharp, and just like a knee killer hitch don’t walk too close if you value the skin on your legs. Our most recent project has been laying down fill dirt as well as some A/B gravel. Like someone else said using the back of the bucket to smooth things works pretty well.

I don't use a tooth bar because I am not interested in stressing my FEL arms. Not sure FEs are intended to aggressively dig - that's why I purchased a backhoe and a box blade. I am however interest in the Vevor plate as I am in the midst of designing a FEL mounted carry all so my 3pt can have a chipper or forestry winch.

Well the plate didn’t warp any from the welds and tonight I used it with bucket forks to unload a 5’ pallet with 300# on it. The stress on the bucket with that weight hanging so far out was about all the bucket could handle without bending and everything held up fine.

Been there done that with grinders. Knew it was done for 😂. Excellent price and that looks like a substantial backing plate. Maybe weld on plates from the vevor to the top of the bucket to add some top strength? Cheers. No clue on a toothed bucket as I don't think I need one. But definitely a scraper edge for sure.

Too bad about the grinder. I like having a small one around, and went for a Makita this time. It hums, with plenty of continuous duty power, but the switch is miserable. Woops on that decision. I opted for a Titian stump bucket, in lew of a toothed edge. For one thing it is lite, adding to lift. Good luck on the search. Wonder what Biff uses. Be well. Chris
