@@david-lm7iu Correct me if Im wrong, but the bible doesnt say anything about transgender people or feature trans people. So theres no hard written rule saying you must hold any thought or attitude about them, right? From my understanding, Christians opposing the idea of changing gender argue that god does not make mistakes and attempting to change your body is blasphemous and desecrates your body, which would be god’s work and thus sacred? So taking that as the argument, its pretty easy to argue against. God does not make everything. He makes the land and the sea and everything that grows and lives in and on them. However, human wisdom and ingenuity made bread, wine, the churches you worship in, and the paper you use to spread your gospel. It is the proof that man is civilized. It is a god given ingenuity and free will. So if god gave us free will and god gave us the capacity and creativity to alter his creations, why should applying that to ourselves be sinful? Because were alive? So are animals. God gave us authority over animals, but should we not have authority over ourselves? We’ve created plenty of wonders that improve ourselves. Glasses for people with failing eyes. Dentures for people without teeth. Prosthetics for limb loss. Medication for mental instabilities, which we have from birth and would thus be something god given. Why should gender be different? If god created a man who suffers by being a man, why should he not use his god given wisdom, creativity, and free will to become a woman? Or is your argument against trans people not rooted in your Christian faith but instead rooted in science and reason? Because by all measures science and reason supports the validity of trans people.

But as a mostly closeted bi, I was so happy she did not come with "eeewww, no, two girls are gross" or sth that I would expect with our very Catholic fam. Unfortunately, one of my siblings (I presume one sister who is homophobic and knows that I'm bi) told my parents who thought that I was teaching their youngest about some homosexual agenda and that all love (when it comes to gender) is equal. They confronted me and I was so anxious because I didn't want to out myself and didn't want to go against my beliefs, either. I barely managed to placate my dad who said that "it's okay to tell your sister that gay people exist, because she'll find out either way, but you cannot leave it at that. You have to explain to her our stance on that thing." I hate being ashamed of myself when it comes to my family. When I hug my parents and think "what would they do if i told them im not straight? That i think that love is beautiful regardless of the gender of the people? Etc."

@Becky Baggins So i'm going to try not to be confrontational, but you've said you "have zero problem with (biology)." Then you should know that the bulk of characteristics that make up the difference in male and females comes from the way hormones effect your body, if someone blocks one hormone and substitutes another for an extended period of time your body literally undergoes changes to muscle mass, fat distribution, even your skin. You can be born a male and be super muscular, but if you block your testosterone and substitute estrogen your body will lose a good portion of muscle mass and you will never be able to regain it back as long as you're blocking your testosterone. The reverse is true as well, if you block estrogen and take testosterone you will build muscle much more easily and get super ripped. Your genitals don't give your body "super powers" the hormones that your body naturally produces causes those traits, and if you change what hormones are dominate through medication your body will undergo changes.
@trashboi12863 жыл бұрын
@Becky Baggins In 2018 Patricio Manuel became the first trans guy to enter men's professional boxing and won the match; it was his first one. In 2015 Chris Mosier became the first trans man to join a national men's team and after his first racewalk became the masters national champion; last year he became qualified for the Olympics as a result of ranking 12th in the nation after a 50-kilo race. Trans male athletes are succeeding just as much as trans women. Only reason why it's never discussed is because it doesn't suit the narrative that trans women are dominating female sports because of their birth sex. Being trans doesn't make you any more or less likely to win a competition. In fact, Chelsea Mitchell who thinks trans women shouldn't be in women's sports managed to beat her trans opponent Terry Miller easily. Mitchell won first place while Miller only won third place. She had also beaten her the week before in a different championship race. According to you, Miller should've had the advantage, right? Shouldn't she have easily beaten Mitchell because she was born male? In fact, I can easily argue against your claim and say the opposite: keeping trans people in the group of their biological sex is going to hurt women's sports. Mack Beggs is a perfect example of this: forced to participate in women's sports because the state banned him from switching to the men's team, he just kept beating his opponents. Several girls refused to compete against him because they were afraid they were going to get hurt, but the school and the state continued to force him to stay there. I thought ya'll wanted to prevent girls from being unfairly beaten in sports? What happened here? If you want the truth here it is: there is no disparity. What you're seeing is the media sensationalizing trans women's victories because it gets them clicks and views. For every trans woman who's won a sport, there's another who lost. There are already many restrictions on trans people when choosing to compete on the team of their respective gender. For trans women, they aren't allowed on the team until they have a certain hormone level. That applies to both testosterone and estrogen, and studies have shown that these restrictions are overall effective. Even in a recent study that transphobes try to use to prove that these restrictions do nothing, the author of the study himself said "yeah, no, just extend the limitation to another year or two and they'll be fine" and in the case of trans men, they actually performed better than their cis peers after a year on testosterone. So your argument pretty much goes down the drain there. I'm not sure how long it's been since you've been in school, but maybe you might wanna look to more recent information instead of relying on your memory and news headlines, because the information you have is clearly outdated and sounds like you took nothing more than a high school biology course in the midwest.

So when a person, like the person at Wi Spa, goes into sex-based spaces for women without having bottom surgery that's a problem! Literally all my comments keep getting deleted, I was trying to say I was adopted by conservative Christians who supported my gender fluidity from a young age, and vocally supported LGBTQ+ families adopting. “All children are a gift from god and to deny any one of them unconditional love is our greatest sin. If an LGBTQ+ family has unconditional love to offer a child in need, they SHOULD.” I grew up more confident in myself, with more stable friendships and relationships than anyone I’ve ever met in my entire life - and I’ve met and gotten to know a LOT of people and their relationships. Unconditional love is not exclusive to the cisgender, the heterosexual, or the monogamous. In fact, anyone who attempts to NORMALIZE these things for their children is inherently placing CONDITIONS on the love they offer their kids. It’s deplorable and dehumanizing. Even cishet kids grow up feeling repressed and unloved when they’re raised so conditionally.
@specsa.14263 жыл бұрын
Ugh I hope this doesn’t get deleted. My momma taught me not to let these lies slide unnoticed.
@specsa.14263 жыл бұрын
As someone who was raised with unconditional love sourced from the least likely place (according to the narratives modern society have given me regarding republican Christian baby boomers), love itself is a major curiosity of mine, and something I am always trying to talk about. It upsets me to hear people put conditions on love then try to imply there’s more freedom in it. There is not. It’s very straightforward that way. Unconditional love is a liberated love. If you’re a Christian, you believe Christ died for our sins so we would be free to live as we see fit here on earth. We’re meant to be liberated, even from the god that created us. It’s precisely why Jesus died - so that god would stop interfering with our affairs and we would all be judged as individuals when we die instead of as whole communities the way these bigots judge the LGBTQ+ community. There’s just no excuse for Christians anymore. Bigotry is a greater sin than going by new pronouns. Period, and that’s that on that.

@Hail the Proud Boys Many countries are repulsed by the way Americans protect fascism. And as for the Proud Boys: It is amazing how supposedly proud people crawl before totalitarian systems.
@NightWing18003 жыл бұрын
In america, theres already laws regarding that. Advertisements would be subject to the same rules as videos. So if I upload a video of child murder, youtube doesn’t face penalties. Theyre notified it is illegal and only if they refuse to comply are they charged. We have that set up because without protections media platforms cant exist; The risk would outweigh benefit. So all you would need is anti-hate speech laws and for them to be enforced. The first amendment doesnt protect hate speech, so even in America its possible. Its just difficult. Drafting laws about what you can say is complicated because of how language works. When trump provoked a mob to march on the capital, that was illegal. Put it in front of a court though, and it becomes more difficult to argue. You can say things without saying them and not mean things you say. Legal Eagle, an actual lawyer, has videos that give a better idea about this than I could. Its less an issue of “This is unethical and someone should be penalized!” And more that the law is complicated and executing something like that without causing problems is hard.

The church needs to not only get out of government, but out of the public sector that provides goods & services as well. Because they often gatekeep, and deny said goods & services to the LGBT+ community.

Dear PragerU, LGBTQ+ people finally starting to have rights isn't discrimination against you.

Though I respect and fully support trans-people, I think that competing against biological women is not the right solution. The levels of testosterone are low, you're right, but a person who goes through male puberty has usually developed a much higher bone and muscle mass and larger bone dimensions and strength, which means that the muscle-recovery-time is shorter and the body of a biological male is more resilient. It is true that there are very few transgender people competing in professional sports, but those who compete, land in the top placement (ex. world gold medalist cyclist Rachel McKinnon). Transgender women should be socially and psychologically equal to biological women, but biologically they can never be the same if a male-born person went through male puberty. As a Medical student and ex-gymnast with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Science I think I am qualified enough to give this comment. Even if we don't want to admit this sometimes, "male" bodies and "female" bodies are different. We forbid Olympian biological female athletes to take doping (usually testosterone or fat reducing hormones), because it could bring an unfair advantage into the competition, but then let a woman with a male body (which produced 10x more testosterone a day for 40 years and then took blockers for a year) in to compete? Sorry, but I don't think any of my medical or sports colleagues would agree with this. A plausible solution could be to create a new league for transgender people, just as we have Olympics and Paralympics (not trying to compare physically disabled people with transgender people here). Again, I understand your struggles and I can imagine that this is very mentally draining, but this is just not the right solution.

With regards to religion, Samantha is right when she says that there are many people of the LGBT+ community who have a faith. The video she's reacting to is absolutely incorrect in saying that all religious people are transphobic/homophobic and that they believe their religion instructs them to be hateful towards LGBT people. In fact, when referring to Christianity specifically, the command is to LOVE one another, completely including those who are transgender, gay, etc. Thank you for spreading awareness of this Samantha!

If anyone asks you "would you date a transwomen" and you answer no, and they ask you "why you bigot" your reasonable response should be "it's none of your business and I'll date who ever I want" THATS IT. So, don't bother justifying by saying stupid things like "I'm super straight" or etc.....theres no need.
