The Champions League quarter final draw has now been completed with Manchester City facing Real Madrid in the next round, before a potential semi final clash against either Arsenal or Bayern Munich.
That has to be put on the back burner for now though, with Manchester City once again facing Premier League opposition in Newcastle, in the quarter finals of the FA Cup!

I’d like to see Doku right, Bobb left. I know we’re used to seeing Doku as a left winger but I think that’s mostly because we’ve had Bernardo and Phil on the right. Doku’s delivery into the box seems much better from the right. And Bobb looks very comfortable on the left. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Foden or Bernardo start though tbh.

Foden's best position (by a mile) is central, up and around the box. I see no grounds for putting Alvarez in that spot.

As long as Pep continues forcing Alvarez in positions that other players are better well suited for and or playing wingbacks (or even FB much higher than last year) and or setting up formations that leave Rodri on his own to cover the whole midfield like he did v LFC and both Chelsea games (which were failures), there is a distinct possibility we don't anything this season. Question is, will Pep continue tinkering or run his strongest 11 in their best positions with few permutations? I'm hoping Pep straightens this out so we can smash NU and go into the Int break winning as I think losing could be extremely detrimental to our team's psyche as we play Arsenal upon returning from the break.

I was born in the Jan of 1976 a couple of months before the final and my old fella (rip) said just the same as you that the geordies were brilliant that day/night of the final.My dad said they had a right good drink together before and after the game and zero trouble which for the mid seventies was unusual. 👍

I love Ortega but stop with possibly taking over for Ederson. Possession and playing out back is much more important for Pep. How many times did Ortega boot long ball to Haaland vs VVD? Haaland was so tired last 20 minutes. We're lucky to have Ortega but Ederson is the perfect Pep keeper.

Should be a really interesting game, certainly feels the FA Cup is really up for grabs this season! Clashes against Newcastle are always awkward seeing as my uncle is a geordie, and he certainly doesn't take losses well (tensions will be especially high this time round seeing as Newcastle are out of all competitions), but hey let's hope no fall outs occur after this encounter 😂 enjoyed the preview as always mate, love seeing the likes Oscar Bobb getting more minutes, I'll go for a 3-1 City win (seems our typical scoreline) Cmon City! 💙🏆

Both City's strikers are not mentally fit at the moment. This can be seen in both Haaland's and Alvarez's body language. Alvarez was thrown out of balance by Guardiola with constant rotations, and Halland fell into a crisis even though his statistics are not that bad, but he is obviously not satisfied with his performances. One of them needs to get out of that abyss.
