Another Trick To Get SILVER DAPPLE PINTO in Albert Mason Side Mission (Chapter 3) - RDR2

This trick is to get Silver Dapple Pinto (Missouri Fox Trotter) horse in Albert Mason's side mission. Chapter 3.

Took an hour of trial and error, but I was attempting to do this without the coach method. What worked was riding my horse between the camera and the hill they run up so I can get on my horse quickly to chase. Take the photographers horse to chase the horde. Focus on the horde tracks, don't let the bar on the bottom right run out. Just before the cutscene starts as you get to Albert, press L3+R3, skip cutscene, after cutscene immediately press L3+R3. It will be 1 set of tracks that sais "horse". While tracking it I never let the meter on the bottom right run out. Took me a few minutes to track it down but everything else went smoothly. After doing all the other steps I saved and loaded, and the horse seems to be mine! Thanks for the video Edit: I didn't have autosave enabled. A few chapters later I went a couple hours without saving and my boah got hit by a train and died, so I just found another horse😂

I / you can do this first time every time, keep as close as you can to them as you approach alberts cut scene, you can even be ahead of them, then after the cut scene you will still see them going over the first hill, go over that hill between the trees and you will see the fox-trotter every time, no tracking no stagecoach, done in minutes. Search for fox-trotter in under 5 minutes on here.

That’s the best method to get this beautiful horse but few more tips to avoid all extra efforts, 1. Get the white Arabian first from lake Isabel, it will help you chase the horse faster and due arabain’s high acceleration you can chase and jump to mount quicker, took me a minute. 2. Once mount on the horse feed and brush until you get level 1 bonding (DO NOT DISMOUNT) take the horse to the nearest stable while mounting on it and put a saddle and the horse is yours. 3. You don’t need to kill the horse to mount it, simply once you saddle up and get out stable, save and load the game, you can then mount the horse as normal. Cheers

Finally got my horse after the 5th try. I actually ran it over once with my white Arabian, then managed to run it into a thick patch of trees. I spammed jump and ended up jumping like 10ft onto the MFT lol

Guarantee you will get it 100% get rate. (NO WAGONS NEEDED, JUST PATIENCE) After much trial and error, the easiest method is still TRACKING well at least for me. You can track anytime while herding the horses, just gotta make sure you are tracking the MFT (Blue trail) and do not let the tracking bar runs out (the faster you move, the bar depletes greater). Therefore, don’t rush and keep the bar alive. During the cutscene where Albert took the picture, there’s no point in rushing to him and chase after the horse after the scene. Just chill and continue to keep the tracking bar alive while approaching albert and skip the cutscene to complete the mission. After that, it’s just a matter or keeping the tracking bar alive and follow the trail. The MFT won’t run away and will be stuck in an area go round and round waiting for you to be captured.

Can confirm the tracking method does work on ps5 as of 6/9/23. I did it in 2 tries. The coach method was absolute balls I don’t rec it at all. Little tip tho, once the horse is saddled up and you hop off it and can’t get back on, just blow urself up with dynamite and respawn you should be able to mount up.

I used the stage coach with my horse AND my second horse behind the wagon. The pinto took a hard left under the train bridge! No tracking but took like 15 mins of jumping into trees. It worked!!!!!! Woooooo!!!!

Hi guys, I Wanna share my own experience with this Amazing horse, maybe helps someone. and no need to go chapter 3 or 4,I took her at the beginning of chapter 2, after hosea mission, due to unlock stable. I traveled Riggs station, and went the Albert mason area, done first, the coyote, then in big valley and second steps , wolves missions, and finally went to emerald ranch and after 2 times, I've got her. No need to stagecoach, or st else... Just follow tracks,keep them, and be careful to follow the blue one, you need to be calm and patient, when see her, try to make her tired, don't rush, go slowly near her and jump in the best time, when both horses head are in a same position, I hope all of you will have a nice Silver Dapple Pinto, such a fast, beautiful, brave and really Loyal horse, I love her and named her, BOADICEA💪🏼😉👌🏼🐎💕

@@leflavito after jump on and control horse, go to stable, first stabled her, then put saddle on her, it's better to choose a name for her but not necessary. After you come out of stable, save game and reload the save. I always do these steps and it works. If any questions you may have, ask me. I Hope you'd get her soon😉

To anyone wondering. Yes this does work. It is frustrating as all but it is possible. just need to place the Stagecoach in correct place and be fast with talking to mission giver. Keep at it and you wont be sorry.

First time i played this i thought the game is teaching you just how to do it and that you will be able to track the horse after the mission,i spent hours searching in that area where they went,spotted a white kentucky saddler in the near area,got excited until i came closer and saw that it is not the horse.I didn't know you aren't supposed to catch that horse,i never tried the carriage method and i had overwrote the save from that mission at that point

Took me 3 tries with a Hungarian Halfbred, My advice get your fastest horse, don’t place it too far from Albert mason, Track if you can, once you catch up be patient I almost lost it cuz a tree branch knocked me off while I was trying to tame it

The key to get the horse for me, was to leave the horse close to Mason with an order to stay, and when you are with the horses, to run the last sector from the last little hill, as fast as I can so I can leave the horses behind and arrive very close to Albert mason. If you run fast the last sector and get very close to albert Mason, you are going to see the horses and you are going to have the chance to run for the Fox trotter and jump to him. If you do what I sayd, you are going to get the Fox Trotter, by jumping on him, which is another dificult task. Just don't quit and keep chasing him until you jump on it. Once mounted, run to the stable, and save the game (do not dismout the horse until you get to the stable). Take out the horse, and if you dismount, you are going to realize you are not able to mount again, do not panic, make a camp and save the game, and reload the game, and you are going to be able to mount the horse again.

It works. Track the horse when you first see it, track the correct horse, then keep refreshing the bar by opening eagle eye, open eagle eye right before getting into the cutscene, skip it, immediately go into eagle eye and then follow the track. Until you see the horse, keep refreshing eagle eye and don't let the bar run out. I did it in 2 tries

It is a tedious effort lol but well worth it ! I used stagecoach and my own pony to block, I also tracked. Took me 6 times total. On the last time ? I chased that FT all over the heartlands. 20minutes easy. Once you get on her, break her...bond her...take her to stable. stable her and leave. save, load save and enjoy her.

Still works as of 28th October 2024.. Tried all other methods to get it and killed the lady over 2000 times.. Thank you for this.. Got it within 5 minutes and on my 2nd try.. MTF did not run all over the map lol.. Edit: Once you have level 1 bonding, dont jump off the horse. Ride it directly to nearest stable, saddle up, exit the stable, save the game and them unmount the horse. Then reload the save to mount again!!! Or else you will loose it.

29/4/24 i tried this way many times but after the scene i was never able to find the horse! After many tries i was finally able to catch the horse but with another way that you need to keep tracking the horse until you actually see it and then you catch it by jumping on it! It tool me hours but i finally did it :)

Great vid but better way to get the coach is just bump the driver with your horse n he’ll run off. No wanted or witnesses then. Another is feed her horse meal straight away and ride for about 100 meters for lvl1 bond, no need for stable or saddle. Just save n exit. I do this straight after eastward bound now.

So thing is, I make a point to get this horse every time I start a new save. And I do it a lot. Every time I did it with the tracking method, latest one in May - and that was from first try! Today though, I couldn’t find it for the life of me, so I tried the stage method here - but also made sure to keep tracker on so I don’t lose her. It worked, eventually. Because a train was passing through and forced the MFT to run along the tracks instead, towards emerald ranch. WAY easier to spot her there. So I guess? Try to time it with a passing train too lol? I did it in morning hours, 7-8am, and trains were frequent. Talk about a barricade!

@@joezennn it did work to slow it down, but the passing train completely blocked it from taking its usual path, which is another interesting thing to learn! It ran to the right of the tracks trying to get past and ended up in emerald ranch. Easier to chase there than through the trees for sure.

Find the white marker of AL side mission on your map. If it shows then you can get the horse on your present chapter. If you already done it before then the marker wont show up on your map and impossible to get the horse and i dont think you can find it in log because it is not a main mission. Alternatively you see the lady with a dead MFT to spawn in face rock location. If you already help the lady before, and you save your game, then she wont respawn again.

ATTENTION I have a new way to get mft first u need a wagon,second drive the wagon into the blackwater stable,3 shoot the ceiling before getting of (make sure your wanted),get off the wagon go to the mft,4 feed it,5 run away, 6 call it, if u cannot saddle it u have to go back to the stable and press stable>mft>saddle up your welcome

First time you able to mount her, dont get off. Ride her to stable and keep her there. Try to die if you cant remount her back.

Hey i thought the same thing. You have to save the game after going to the stable and naming the missori fox trot and then load the save at which point you can mount the horse. I found the solution on google. Lol im so happy i spent hours trying to get the horse if i couldnt even use it i woulda been furious lol. Good luck pal.

I got the mission in chapter 2 and I just used this method and got the horse today. Thank you so much! Buck you just have to line the coach up, have your horse ready behind the coach when the mission starts, then as soon as the cutscene starts with Albert immediately skip it and jump on your horse. I had the white Arabian so I caught him pretty quickly. Make sure you watch which direction he runs after hitting the coach and if you don’t find him after running for about 10-15 seconds in the same direction then start over. Once you finally see him you HAVE to jump in him from your horse, no lassoing or anything, it’s very very hard but you can.

You need to jump from your horse, you cant simply mount like usual. Once you have mounted, dont go down and feed it with peppermint etc until its bonding. Then ride it to stable or you can whistle to lead it to stable. From there you will be able mount.

You have to get beside it and "jump to horse," break it, and don't get off until you bond and take it to the stable. Even then, I had to save after saddling up at the stable and reload the save to mount after dismounting.
