This channel has appeared today, interesting as I passed a Mog on the road today three fellas off on a shoot, Not sure what model but it was very tidy, Nato green with a Rag top. Looks like you have enough to do. Subbed, Cheers

Has to be a pro like you to take on a project like this though 😮 I’m sure I’d never get to the finish line 😢

It will certainly keep me busy 😊

I don’t envy you with all that body work to do🫣 always wondered if it was worth galving a cab when it’s done up. She’s a nice spec👌 I didn’t see any trailer trailer brakes though?🤔
@ClassicworkingvehiclesАй бұрын
I enjoy the bodywork process fortunately! Rewarding to see something come back to life 😊

I'm looking forward to watching your bodywork progress. I'll be a couple of steps behind you doing mine. I'll be interested to watch the doors especially, mine are non existent across the bottoms. Will you fab your own repair parts or buy one of the kits for each door? Keep up the good work.
@ClassicworkingvehiclesАй бұрын
Thanks 😊. It’ll be a mixture of repair parts and self fabrication as, like yours, the doors are in bad way 🙁.

So, im over here in America & I have a Unimog 406. Ive put 405/70R20 tires on it. I would love for it to have a little more room in the fender wells! The one youre working on looks like its got taller coil springs. Can you suggest what type springs you've used or have seen for a bit more lift? Thanks so much. Love that you share your knowledge on these vehicles. Over here they are much rarer. Thanks again
@ClassicworkingvehiclesАй бұрын
Thanks for the feedback 👍. I think the springs probably only look longer as the spring diameter is less on a 421 compared to a 406. With oversize tyres, if that’s something you want to keep, personally I’d look at raising the cab on its mounts a couple of inches rather than using longer springs or spring spacers. That will stop the C of G getting too high and avoid changes to the steering and suspension geometry. Rear body may also need a lift. Hope that helps 😊.

Love this channel! Keep the videos coming. Great that this mog is getting some care and attention. Does it have a V5 or will you have to register it?
@ClassicworkingvehiclesАй бұрын
It’s already registered yes 😊. It was imported new into the UK 👌

Is that a back actor off a Thwaites in the background I see?
@ClassicworkingvehiclesАй бұрын
It is! I have an Alldig 😁

@Classicworkingvehicles same! 😁 looking for a back actor, that's why I ask? Is it one you are repairing?
@ClassicworkingvehiclesАй бұрын
@@mogadventures8088 no, it’s a spare for mine. Could probably be persuaded to part with it although I want to hang onto the swing frame ideally…

Where are you sourcing your parts from? If you don’t mind me asking. I’m looking at restoring a 421 here in America. Thanks
@ClassicworkingvehiclesАй бұрын
I don’t mind you asking at all 😊. I source parts (new and sometimes used) from various suppliers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany - and occasionally the UK. I would think many of the suppliers will ship to the US, but it’s expensive as I’m sure you know 😬.
@tobyolsen6576Ай бұрын
@@Classicworkingvehicles any help would be greatly appreciated as the usual sources I use for my other Unimog aren’t much help.
