This is just what I need for my high round back without messing with my shoulders and armholes. Thank you.

Yes... I think this could help a high round back... but you may need to also horizontally spread the the CB to add a little length too (depending on the shape of your curves :) Thanks for fitting along with me

This is brilliant! I love that this doesn't change the neckline unlike my usual method of just adding to the center when I don't want to change the silhouette of the bottom. I just subscribed.

That's an interesting way to get that bit of extra room in the chest area!

Thanks... Keep in mind you can use the same technique to add room to upper chest area too! Thanks for watching :)

your videos are so helpful! Question, could this method also work to remove ease from the chest without changing bust or waist size, like push in instead of out from the vertical line?
@JSternDesigns3 ай бұрын
Yes! You can do this adjustment in reverse to remove ease in your bodice. Thanks so much for fitting along with me

Bravo!!! I like the magnetic board you have, where did you buy it?
@JSternDesigns4 ай бұрын
Thanks so much... and sorry about that, I forgot to included my Affiliate link to Sewtites for this Magnetic cutting system. It includes the magnetic cutting mat, 10 booster magnets and a 6 x 24 quilting ruler that has magnets embedded in it. This offers a stable ruler that doesn't slide... and you can add the booster magnets to the magnets on the ruler to get a more stable hold if you need it! Here's the link that will also get you %15 off your purchase! www.sewtites.com/discount/jsterndesigns?ref=s4TwrYTg

I am assuming I can do this in the reverse to accommodate for a hollow chest. I have the opposite problem with too much fabric above the bust, so this should work. Even when I choose the right size in the shoulders, I sometimes have extra fabric in the front neck area, like i need at dart at the center front neckline. I will play around with a small scale pattern and see what the resulting pattern would look like. It's always so funny to me how we have such different fitting issues, but pattern alteration techniques can sometimes be applied to opposite problems.
@JSternDesigns4 ай бұрын
Yes, you can overlap vs. spread the vertical slashed line to take in ease... And you're right, the same adjustment can work for a few different fit issues... or doing the opposite spread/overlap can make it work for opposite problems!! Thanks for fitting along with me

I have a pattern alteration question and would appreciate your help. I want to shorten the vee neckline on a princess seam dress to eliminate a gap. I’ve tried a slash from the midpoint of the neckline to the princess seam and overlapped the neckline to shorten it, but this changed the angle of the shoulder seam and created a large gap at the center back. Can you advise how to do this pattern alteration correctly?
@JSternDesigns3 ай бұрын
You are describing "contouring" the neckline... by slashing and overlapping the edge to get rid of the gap. That is how you do it... may try multiple slashes so you're only overlapping each slash less than 1/4" This will be less invasive to the shape of the original neckline. The other option is that you can try taking the front shoulder up at the neckline side of the shoulder seam. Hope these suggestions help! Thanks for watching
