hi! I'm a first-year architecture student studying at Cal Poly! This is a week in my life during my winter quarter. Hope you enjoy :')
My schedule was pretty packed this quarter. I would not recommend taking a 7am as an architecture student, haha. I was taking classes in architecture, physics II, calculus II, and sociology. Outside of class, I am involved in the Chinese Students' Association, CSA's dance group (TOK), the Open House committee, and Freedom by Design. If you have any questions about anything, let me know!

I used to live with 2 Cal Poly Architecture students. During their last year they probably slept four hours at the most. The showed me their lab workspace, and I guess they got to redesign a section of a city. There were a bunch of little wooden models everywhere. It seems like a fun major.

I’ve been trying to decide btwn CP and Auburn and I was wondering how you feel about Cal Poly’s program? Do you feel stressed/ is the workload overwhelming? I really enjoy your videos! Thanks

Congrats!! I really like Cal Poly's architecture program because of its focus on hands-on learning! It does get stressful, depending on the time of the quarter. But, I think that every arch program is going to be stressful, no matter what school you go to. The course load is really rigorous by nature, so if you can manage your time well you'll be okay :)

thanks paulina! I have a dell xps 15, I really recommend it!! usually your college posts what minimum specs you will need, so I would base it off that. try to get a computer that will last, you'll need it for a long time!

What math classes did you guys take in high school. I’m deciding whether or not to take the AP Calc BC test during this quarantine bc I’m not sure if I really need to. Going to Cal Poly for Architecture as well.

Hi Julian! Congrats! I took the AP Calc AB test, so I got out of Calc I. If you take the BC test, this gets you out of Calc I and Calculus for Architects (which is basically an easier version of Calc II)

Architecture is a very time-consuming major. It's tough to find free time but it will definitely help build your time-management skills. Many arch majors still do other activities :)

i'd love to make a whole video about this! the M.Arch and B.Arch are very different depending on the school you go to, so i'd take a closer look at the curriculums of various schools
