I was sooooo hooked on this soap in the mid 80s! Lots of exciting stuff was going on and lots of awesome characters! Felicia, Rachel, Mitch, Cass, Vince, Ada, Cecile, Wallingford, etc.! And I loved seeing Mack get pissed off! This theme I loved hearing too, and they did it great with having re-caps of scenes from that episode as the credits played. Brings back many great memories of those times. In 1986 when Cecile kidnapped Cass, damn how I wished I was kidnapped by her! I wish they'd re-run this soap; it's been off the air for over 20-years so there'd be plenty of people who never saw it who could now enjoy it, as well as us old fans who'd just love to see it all again!

It's incredible how this ending brings back ultra memories as a young boy waking up from naps to see it playing on my grandma's TV (she was big into soaps). It always soothed me.

God, I miss this show... I'm still baffled by the notion that NBC and P&G have no clue what they had or why this program was important. It just amazes me they couldn't figure out how to monitze the vault of old episodes, so we could enjoy them today. While it may seem odd, If I didn't know better, the entertainment industry is missing a valuable (training) platform which daytime TV provided, and helped actors develop their talent while propelling them to the next level in their careers.

I remember my aunt watching this. My brother and me stayed with her during the day in the summer. We were young and could not stand it at first but she just had one T.V. and eventually she talked it up and we liked it. Thanks, this made me think of her.

Hey David! I live in Australia, and I can remember having the TV on one morning in the summer break, and Another World Came on. I didn't know anything about it. We had Days of Our Lives and Y&R, but they were on in the afternoon here. It would have been around this time as well. Well, by the end of that week, I was hooked! This was my favourite theme music of the show as well. Gosh I wish it was still on. I can remember my sister and Mum saying "what is this garbage you're watching?!", but by the end of the summer break, it was the 3 of us sitting glued to the TV. My stepdad walked in one morning - Cecile had just shot someone. The 3 of us were all sitting there open mouthed in shock. Well my stepdad just burst out laughing looking at the 3 of us. Like you, this made me think back to that time. Life was a little bit simpler, and a lot richer for having a show like this in it :)

If I've learned anything about television from the past at least when it comes to closing credits it's that you don't always get to hear the full closing theme of any television program whether it's a soap opera or not.

Starting in the fall of 1999, all titles were produced by the Procter & Gamble Company and most of them were now at the hands of Paramount Domestic Television, a Viacom Company after P&G's deal with Fremantle was expired. All shows were now distributed by Paramount/Viacom from September 1999 - present such as Another World, As the World Turns, Love of Life, The Edge of Night, The Rebel, Capitol and more. Plus movie packages from the legendary studio. All under the sheer guidance of Kenneth Miller, Bruce M. Kerner, Mark Johnson, Gail M. Patterson, John Haggar, Sean Hanley, Beth Sterner and Cecelia Hall between November 15, 1993 and today. Like I said, those P&G titles are now at the hands of Paramount/Viacom and nothing else between September 1999 and today. But that's my deepest and richest opinion in the world of daytime television.

What I love about the Another World Theme Music are the songwriters John Rubinstein, Ennio Morricone and Alan & Marilyn Bergman. But an amazing team of composers are Stephen Lawrence, Cliff Morris and Todd Hayen as well as music directors for Score Productions and they are Billy Barber, Jessica Murrow, Patricia Edwards, Michel Camilo, Bob Israel, Charles Fox, Charles Gross, Edd Kalehoff, Walt Levinsky, Dick Lieb, Chuck Loeb, Les Fradkin, Paul Epstein, Gary Anderson and Arthur B. Rubinstein. Between 1981 and 1999, I was very impressed with the show's theme music and it's one of the reasons why it brings back some wonderful memories here. Because for the theme music of Another World, it gives us some real harmony to listen. So, that's my own lovely & stunning opinion about the theme music of Another World and nothing else. Period.

Back in the day, the daily serials used to do this sometimes on their broadcasts (most of the time, it would just be the formation of the title, then a sponsor card, then a static shot of the title [on some broadcasts, they would run the full credits like was done on this broadcast of Mon. May 13, 1985]).

My mother was a religious follower of this show (and Days until she got pissed off at them) and I remember these long closes. Sometimes I wish they were using this music in the 90s. Call me weird, but I would've loved hearing this music and seeing the credits over the scenes where Morgan was chasing after Andrew, who was holding Courtney hostage. That was the most emotionally shredding storyline I had ever seen on this show.

Three minute closing segment haven't been seen in 20 or more years, as the networks started doing their own in the 90s. I think TPIR was the last daytime show to go to network-done credits in September 1999.

Yes, and it's a real shame. Since this was one of the only ways to ensure the cast and crew received some type of recognition. It depended upon how much available time was left over that drove whether you saw a complete list or a partial speedy one.

@@Kevin-rf1gi Jeopardy and Wheel of fortune sometimes has a 60-90 second credit roll(Jeopardy has had a few this season in the wake of their two long champion reigns), and that's about the longest credit rolls seen in television these days.
