First time I have watched this show since it went off the air. So much nostalgia! Watched with my mom since high school in the 70’s. I can’t remember half the characters but slowly they’re coming flooding back

How come Pat Never went to Mac And told him what' Cecille was doing to her and why didnt Phillip either?. And my next question is when does Cecilles lies get exposed by everyone and are they on here . THANK YOU in advance .

Beverly Penberthy played the part of Pat Matthews Randolph from 1967 until she was fired in 1982. She was my favorite actress on _Another World_ for many years. I think she would almost always treat people with kindness even when they were cruel to her. Cecile seemed to go over-board on deceiving and berating Pat, and eventually Pat realized it was a losing battle. This is only my opinion, and it's been a long time since I watched all of this time period on the soap. I hope it helps a little. 🙂

What exactly does this particular era snapshot of the era have to do PASSIONS because I feel like I am supposed to say “PATSI” but I don’t care for that term? keeping in mind I’m a fan of the show. If I might make a suggestion? Actually, instead of that I am just going to “Watch Later” and then check-in and see what’s up? Let me say, it has been a pleasure thus far watching how this gloriously underrated show in the 90s comes together so exceptionally, in the era that proceeded its “golden” era. Then it occurs to me that era is detergent, but means was, en espanol. 🎉

Okay I am going back to watching this period of aw and chase I enjoyed the interview yesterday of Richard bekins and now it makes sense pat Randolph was Mike Randolphs mother. And Mike Randolph was the charecter harding lamay discussed so often as the charecter he wanted to be gay back I guess around 1976 or so but NBC shot it down after Paul Rauch and harding Lemay got the go ahead from p and g. And scripts were written up. And of course around ten years later Doug Marland would at as the world turns introduce the hank Eliot storyline which is still one of the finest and best storylines ever done on a, soap and frankly one of the best on television. And with me Chase Douglas Marland and harding Lemay and even agnes Nixon are the gold standard but if I am honest harding and Doug Marland are probably my favorite ones as they were both so bold and just had the ability to pull off certain things that most writers have tried to do but I don't think can execute properly. And both just seemed like they had a deep sense of compassion for what's going on in the world and for people. Anyway I am guessing chase this must be the period where Sam hall took over as headwriter who was another fine writer before getting sent over to Texas where Gail kobe fired him and then he went to one life to live where he worked with Joseph staurt but then ended up working with Paul Rauch again. At oltl. And chase Sam halls execution of the Mathew bieng mitch Blakes son was well written too. But not sure if that was harding Lemays plan or not. Of course if it were me years later I would flipped it around and had it turn out Mathew Cory was macs son after all but at the same time flipped the script and had it turn out Sam fowler was really mitches son and not half brother. But sadly in the later years no one thought of that or bothered to do things like that instead we got Jake the rapist which was wrong Olivia Mathew's running around my body my choice but not bieng a charecter you could route for and it was not Allison hossack either it was the writing. Just like with Tina Sloane before she went to guiding light and would play Lilian Raines and of course work with Judy Evans the original Beth Raines years before she would come to aw to play Paulina Cory. Anyway just my thoughts and still sad when harding came back Micheal liabson did not make sure he stayed as Micheal liabson was a big Doug Marland fan and worked with him on both guiding light and as the world turns but I guess clashed with the guy who taught douglas which is sad.

Gabriel, I enjoyed Alan Locher's interview with Richard Bekins, too. I didn't watch the other soap(s) you mention at times and have limited knowledge recalling the various writers at _Another World._ I do recall really enjoying Harding Lemay being there. 🙂

@Chase4everChase me too chase and chase from what I have seen Doug Marlands writing was a lot like harding Lemays. So at the same time harding was doing at croix and Janice Doug Marland who was at guiding light was doing the Roger holly Ed buar remote too where Roger thorpe fell off of a cliff. And was thought dead for almost 10 years but that's because the dobsons wrote Roger thorpe raping holly and Douglas wanted to send a strong message about rapists. After what happened at general hospital and chase concerning the discussion of Susan kieth and her cecille she ended up at loving around December of 1983 or around then where Doug Marland was the executive producer and headwriter before ABC pissed him off and crossed him. And shayna was introduced as a bit like her version of cecille but a bit like how Douglas at as the world turns introduced another charecter Julie wendell. But at loving shayna was never turned into a charecter like cecille was shayna became a heroine like charecter and Susan met her husband at loving James kibbard who played Mike Donavan who chase ironically I saw James kibbard played a charecter who hidnapped Amanda Cory in 1989 on another world and let's say it was defenetely diferent watching James kibbard playing a bad guy VS what I saw him play on amc which was Trevor Dillon but really was Hal Munson Mike Donavan knockoff which were both Doug Marland creations on 2 different shows. And chase I agree with you that NBC never treated another world properly especially in the later years. But I will add this another world should have never been on NBC in the first place it should have been at its intended home at CBS along with it's siblings guiding light and as the world turns just like Irma Phillips wanted. But CBS could not fit another world in its schedule. But sad because another world guiding light amd as the world turns should have been watched together the same way the agnes Nixon shows were watched together. not having another world in the same time slot as atwt. And chase I personally think another world would have been perfect at CBS at 1pm as a strong lead in for as the world turns and then guiding light up against all my children. But maybe it's just me.

@@Chase4everChase chase it sounds like you were just an NBC person I don't know if you had watched the doctors or not but Douglas marland headwrote the doctors from either 1975 or 1976 to 1978 when he was lured to ABC to headwrite general hospital and he was the one who wrote Laura's rape by Luke but then Gloria Monty wanted to pair them together and that's when Doug Marland quit general hospital and headwrote as the world turns for 3 months in 1979 then switched places with the dobsons and he went to guiding light until Gail kobe tried to cross him after she was sent to guiding light after Texas was canceled. And chase I am guessing you probably watched Santa Barbara and the dobsons of course created Santa Barbara and Mary Ellis bunim was brought in by the dobsons from as the world turns. And Bob Calhoun replaced her at as the, world turns as laurance caso discussed a bit on Alan's podcast last Friday. But after hearing Larry caso talk about his time as vp of CBS daytime programming I am more convinced another world belonged on CBS VS NBC because Larry caso literely got Mary Ellis bunim out from as the, world turns and literely helped revive guiding light and as the world turns before replacing Bob Calhoun at as the world turns and both doug Marland and Bob Calhoun started at another world Doug Marland transitioned from Doug Marland the actor at another world under harding Lemay and Bob Calhoun started as Paul Rauchs production assistant but by this point at aw was a producer and then he got moved to guiding light and Bob Calhoun once he got promoted to executive producer in 1984 was terrific at both as the world turns and guiding light until he retired in 1991. But maybe chase we will get our wish and see all 3 shows back on CBS because NBC is just clueless. And chase you should check out Doug Marland era as the world turns because it was that good and guiding light stuff. Because it was good too. Especially when douglas headwrote it. But chase I am not sure if you were one of the ones who suddenly started watching atwt in 1999 or not I just know a lot of aw viewers switched in 1999 but have no clue about what the, show looked like when Douglas actually headwrote it just like I had no idea how good harding was or the cullitons because I never got to see it until recently. And for that and people like you who post this stuff it allows people like us to see stuff we could not see before you tube. Like bev playing iris or Doug Watson play Mac or Richard bekins and that's truly a gift.

But my One question is why didn't Pat and Philip Ever go to Mac about what Cecille was doing. With Pats long term friendship with Mac I could never understand why she never did go to him and explain what all Cecille was doing . Also this is just my opinion. I do realize a lot of people do not like Miranda But I am not a big fan of Rachels I am sorry if I offend any one on that one. But I Would have liked to have seen Mac and Miranda Get something going. I always felt and once again this is my opinion that Mac deserved much better than Rachel Once again i'm sorry if I offend anyone but this is just my opinion. As I said I didnt Watch this soap for a lot of years. So a lot of it I don't know the story on. But she was one character I just never cared for. I watched it when it first aired. I lost track for about seven years. When I picked up on it again. I believe I could be wrong. But I believe it was about nineteen eighty sevone or maybe eighty eight. A lot of years had passed. I just want to see Cecille get what is coming to her from everyone lol. Happy new year to everyone. I have enjoyed this page very much and thank you. CHASE For the memories
