Another Year, Another 200+ NES Games Beaten!

It's been another year of epic 8-bit adventures! Over 200 NES games have been marked off of the list in 2023. In this video that was definitely uploaded before 2024 began, we take a look back at the year as I discuss some of the best, worst, most difficult, and craziest games that I've beaten.

I'm a big NES fan myself. I'm currently reading the NES encyclopedia by Chris Scullion. The book covers every official and unlicensed game. I love learning about every release and even cart/label variants.

Happy New Year! The games really can range from super simple all of the way up to ridiculously brutal. It tends to be the earlier NES games which are particularly unforgiving, but you get some later ones as well which can be pretty rough, especially when it comes to the unlicensed ones! Although it was a great year for video games with titles like Baldur's Gate 3, SMRPG Remake, and Pikmin 4, the highlight of 2023 for me was definitely SMB Wonder. It was such a breath of fresh air. I wish I had slowed down and savored it more given its length. 2024 is going to be a HUGE year for Nintendo, and I can't wait!

Super Mario Bros. Wonder was a lot of fun! Even the first couple of months of 2024 are already looking great. 2023 may not have been the best year, but my fiance did kickstart my dream of collecting the games that ment the most to me as a kid. Hopefully I can get the small collection finished before the games get too crazy in price.
