She is amazing! Her cover of this song is great! Thank you, Jessica,

If you like this, then you'll love her music and her playing. She is a true piano virtuoso-the youngest person ever accepted into the Peabody Conservatory of Music (at age five). They awarded her their highest honor a few years ago. After the era in this video, Tori made enough money to buy herself two Bösenforder grand pianos-one for the road and one for home. It has an extra octave and she uses every note.

her covers of Rolling Stones Angie, Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love/Thank You, Billie Holiday's Strange Fruit, Steely Dan's Do It Again, Velvet Underground's New Age, Joe Jackson's Real Men ... (honestly, all the covers on her album Strange Little Girls) ... they're all worth checking out!

Yeah, her covers are amazing. I'd add her version of Leonard Cohen's Famous Blue Raincoat and REM's Losing My Religion to that list too. And the Strange LIttle Girls covers album is perfect!

Famous Blue Raincoat and A Case of You are my favorite Tori covers-and the only ones that really compare with her own astonishing songs. She's such a brilliant artist.

Oh you did decide to do this one. Thought you might wait awhile since you did another cover of this song already. Love the way Tori Amos sings/plays/performs. And, like you, I like when artists take a song, and cover it in a much different style. She actually recorded a studio version of this song and released it less than a year after Nirvana’s version. It is very similar to her live version, but picks up a little more. She seems to accentuate the sadness of the song. Keep em coming. I want to see Amy’s and others recommendations as well. I’ll make some more after you gotten through more of them.

Thanks Kent I’ve got one of your suggestions that I’ll release tomorrow I’m working through all the suggestions, it’s really fun and exhausting!!

Tori's version was nice, but I definitely prefer the original on this one. Got another suggestion for you. A song called Revolution by Aimee Allen. It was used as the theme song for the TV show Birds of Prey. The cover is by a New Zealand band called Devilskin.

Shortly after this, Tori found out about Bösendorfer pianos, she got an endorsement deal with them, they built 2, one for home and one to tour with. She never turned back, they're the size of a medium sized sedan, they're enormous, and they sound amazing. I could go on for hours about Tori, but if you're into covers, she does a TON of them. Just to add to a few that have been mentioned, she's covered Joni Mitchell's A Case of You, Tom Waits' Time, and Leonard Cohen's Famous Blue Raincoat, all fantastically arranged and performed.
@Anothercoverlover622 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I know the name Bosendorfer but have never played one!
@almandragoran2 жыл бұрын
I think one of her Bösendorfer pianos is old (it apparently came from a New York City church), while the one she tours with was built for her. Her recording and touring piano is a Bösendorfer Imperial 290. 9 ft 6 in and 97 keys. She also has a Bösendorfer Baby Grand that she got for her 1998 club tour where the venues were too small for the Imperial.
@Wungolioth2 жыл бұрын
@@almandragoran You might be right about that, given that in early 90s dollars, I believe a new Bösendorfer would cost well over $100K.

I can't edit my comment...I was trying to say Post Malone can.sing wo auto tune. Then I suggested another cover: Angel Eyes (sweet love song, big 80s hit) by The Jeff Healey Band and cover by New Grass Revival. Jeff lost his sight as an.infant and played guitar (slide and regular), sitting on his lap. I remember hearing that he had passed. Incidentally he had a website and project called Cover to Cover!

Thanks Ames! I’ve got more for you I’m just running behind but I’ll catch up I don’t really know Post Malone but I’ve heard the name I liked the Jeff Healy band and probably like a lot of people saw him on Road House He was kind of the blind Stevie Ray Vaughn, no offense intended. I like guitar bands but I always hoped they would throw some organ or piano on these blues songs Thanks again Amy!

@@Anothercoverlover62 Post Malone is a Texas white kid 20-something now, rap/rock/hip hop...not my bag, but I did love his song Circles. He's actually really talented and he loves all kinds of music from old school Drad Kennedys to country. Yes, Jeff Healey was in Road House! You're gonna like the cover...
