You'll encounter many a rock and metal fan who are in awe of Amos. Perhaps also take a look at her cover of L Cohen's 'Famous Blue Raincoat' - This is literally one of my favourite songs. End of. Like, not just as a cover, but her version is one of my favourite songs....ever.

Tori's own songs are my favorites because I have learned so much from her lyricism, but among her many excellent covers, my favorites are A Case of You (Joni Mitchell), Famous Blue Raincoat (Leonard Cohen), and the curiosity That's What I Like Mick (Chas & Dave), which is very English. 😊

I love how she goes from sweet and angelic, to portraying disgust (especially when she’s singing “entertain us”), to darkly playful, to incredibly sensual in ONE performance. 90s Tori was a goddamn beast of a live performer (she still is and she’s 60!) but she’s also incredibly passionate. Sometimes I almost feel like I’m watching something so intimate that I SHOULDN’T be watching, and the fact she can do that with just her and a piano is CRAZY. Btw, I’ve seen her live twice and she’s one of the greatest live performers of all time. During both shows I went to, at one point she straddled a piano bench, played a classical piano with one hand, a keyboard with the other, and sang all at the same time…effortlessly. I know there are live performances from some late night talk shows where you can see her doing that (Spark on Letterman is one of them, I think). But yeah, there’s no one like her. I’ve seen this specific performance of Smells Like Teen Spirit many times and I got chills at the same time you did. Btw, fun fact, apparently Kurt Cobain really liked this version. @@musiclee Just to let you know, she actually lives in Cornwall and she stills tours A LOT (including a lot in the UK) so you probably could actually see her live one day. I mean, she’s 60 now so her voice isn’t as strong as it was during these recordings but she’s still incredible. Just wanted to let you know. 🥰

Tori is one of my favorite artists of all time. Being a metal head, that's saying something. Anything from Under The Pink is amazing, but you can't go wrong with any of her songs.

This song is just one of the album "Strange little girls" which is chock full of amazing covers, amongst them "Bonnie and Clyde" from Eminem. Absolutely amazing!

Thank you for another Tori video!!! I know so many of us appreciate your genuine and thoughtful reactions. I agree with you 100% that Tori is better live. She is one of those few artists who is the real deal and didn't rely on studio magic. Her voice has declined a lot from where she was, but that's just an unfortunate side effect of aging. 😢 I really think that her first 6 albums are as close to perfect as they can be, and her later albums are full of gems, too. The Tori rabbit hole runs DEEP. If you want more recommendations, definitely let us know! ❤
