Node Red on Fire Stick - You have to be kidding me!

Thank you for the wonderful video! I'm a developer. The video that shows the app image like this is really amazing. Although there are restrictions such as not being able to add custom nodes, Node-RED servers can be operated with inexpensive FireTV, so I would be happy if you liked it.

Yes. I do it over MQTT on this.

@@AnotherMaker is MQTT broker separate or part of Node Red? And can I just ask Alexa to turn on light, which would trigger Node Red or do I need Node Red application running in the foreground. Thnx.

Unfortunately no. I think this is better suited as a display. If it was me, I would run bigtimer on a pi, pc, or server, and pipe the info to the fire tv over one of the other input nodes.

@@AnotherMaker you can do that with a standard browser pointing to the ip of your RPI...

My opinion on this is that I think "In the right situations" if you can make due with the nodes that are on this app, that NR on a fire stick is probably a better experience than a pi attached to a TV and it's much cheaper. This definitely isn't for everyone, I just love that someone took the time to do it and that they did it pretty well.

Hi, I'm a Developer. Already answered, this app can't add custom nodes. However, we can respond to the user's request. I will also check BigTimer.

@squalazzo Different use case: Use it as a Dashboard on your TV and get a feed from MQTT. Do the actual processing on a different unit (not the Fire Stick).

Are you saying that when node red is running you cannot play games on your fire Stick? What happens if you reboot? It does not load automatically
