What each player decides to/not to roll and which shops they may or may not enter change so much about the outcome that you’d be forgiven for not realizing they’re on the same seed.

The Wiz becomes a quality 4 item if you get tractor beam. That’s why it’s my favorite item. With tractor beam it straight up is just a 2x damage multiplier

I think Wiz is good but it needs synergies to get great. Wiz by itself forces you to aim diagonally but it does give you tears that go through rocks which is useful. Any homing like brain worm or spoon bender turns it into 20/20 and is really useful. 20/20 is obviously just the same thing but great by itself.

With Tractor beam it becomes unquestionably the best tear multiplier in the game, simply because it actually *is* a tear multiplier. The Wiz plus quad shot = 8 tears.

Eye of the occult and tractor beam just unironically turn wiz into true 20/20, genuine double damage, no damage multiplier down.

crazy how an item that is only good if you find other items that make it stop working the way it's intended is worse than an item that works automatically and instantly synergizes with every item lol The Wiz is *not* a bad item, but it is categorically *not* a good item either. it only works if you find some way to make it stop shooting stupid, or you get hyper-specific rooms or bosses that let you hit multiple enemies at once i'd personally say The WIz is not Quality 0, i think that's unfair and doesn't give it enough credit i'd fight for Quality 1 or Quality 2, myself Pop! is more deserving of Quality 0 than The Wiz imo Pop! actively hurts like, 75% of builds, but is GOATED with Godhead even then, i'd credit that to Godhead, rather than Pop! but that's just me

its actually GENUINELY BROKEN if and i mean IF you got trackor beam otherwise its a extremely risky close range item that you really only take on somone like samson or magy since you’re ither a tank or kinda want to take damage but yeaaaaaaa no even after 1127 hours on this game i never take it its just way to risky

The wiz is only good with homing. Sometime useful in bs rooms and enemies when your speed is low, but otherwise an item i would never be happy about seeing
