The part of this that fucks with me is that I damn near drowned once, and you never really forget the sensation of the pressure of the water against your eyes, so even seeing a medium cover being stuck in the water, unable to get out of it, causes some sensation against my eyes that makes them begin to burn like chlorine or salt in the eyes.

I remember the same thing happened to me when I was super young, and still fear it happening again. It happened around the age of 4 if I remember correctly, me and my family were at the beach enjoying the indoor pool at our hotel. I was walking along the edge of the pool and stumbled into the deep end, all I remember after that was hearing my mom screaming for someone to help me and blacking out. Next thing I know, I’m waking up in a coughing fit with my dad and mom watching me.
