i agree with this. i hate that people view india as cringe, poor, dirty or any other negative stereotypes that some meme created. i found the memes funny but there are people that genuinely think india is like everything they see in meme. when india has a rich, diverse, beautiful culture, traditional or modern. one of my favorite movie is from india, truly inspiring and educational (3 idiots) and their traditional culture is not to be questioned. theyre all fantastic. i'm not indian btw.

This is the instrument Anoushka would have been relegated to in India's classical music scene. Her father taught her like he would have taught his son but it is on the international stage that she is seen mostly. She adapted traditional ragas to what she names anourag. No alap and slow raga exposition, she knows what listeners are really avid for is teental, the quick movement. Her father has known and endured through a clannish grand master school. Some families had exclusive rights of teaching certain instruments like the bin dating back centuries to rajah decree.

The deep rhythm of the tabla is unique, unlike any other drum, d/t the use of the base of the wrist of the player on the outer edge of the instrument, and the fingers in the middle. The tabla and the sitar are of pure Indian origin.

Bravi, bravissimi. Ciao dall'Italia

Hundreds of years to evolve . A hundred seconds to love . I bought a 21? String sitar in 1985 but never leant how to play it . Still brings tears to my eyes So pure the way they communicate by eye . The human brain is so amazing to remember and co-ordinate all those notes for such a majestic composure . Music I will take into the next life
