The Indian dancers are indeed the most talented dancers in the world. An unbelievable culture.Your ancestors were roaming the world in spaceships and constructing monuments the modern world can only dream of, worshipped as Gods...And yet, what they left you, engraved on stones for eternity, not how to build the ships, or how to master electromagnetic energy, or how to bring the world on its knees to worship you, but...what they left you are the dance steps, it is what matters the most: dance, and they were absolutely right.Never ever forget how to dance like them.Respect and love.

SARAH LIGHT - MADAME - The worlds most ancient language known is SAMSKRIT . worlds most ancient spiritual knowledge and PHILOSOPHY is that of SANATANA DHARMA ( HINDU DHARMA ). SHALINI PATNAIK here the dancer performed one of the 8 classical dances of INDIA , called ODISSI - and this dance was originally performed in temples. Atleast , 90% of world languages are derived from SAMSKRITAM . Without Language , there is no human civilization. ALL the Scriptures of Hindu dharma are in SAMSKRITAM . ZERO, numerals ( from 1 to 9 ) , numerical system are all originated from /in INDIA . In 1492, Two seafarers , sponsored by SPANISH QUEEN and Portugal king embarked to find INDIA by sea route - One went westward and hit on Caribbean and Americas . His name was COLUMBUS. The other went around the cape of GOOD hope of Africa, and there aided by a GUJARATHI sailor who took him to land at CALICUT , KERALA and then on to GOA - His name was VASCO DE GAMA . actually by that time , INDIA has thriving ship building industry ., apart from steel and TEXTILES . This is all just tip of ice berg. One of the VEDAS ( of the 4 , knowledge books ) , called SAMAVEDAM , is entirely dedicated to MUSIC .

vishu singh see i was emphasising on the correct usage of words if we follow your logic then western classical music should be called Christian classical music , right? my sisters have learnt this dance form so i very well know about the history and development of indian classical dances , yes they were developed by devadasis but that doesn't mean it should be called Hindu classical dance , Hinduism is a religion , but if you want to fuck correct grammar and word usage then go on. You should ponder upon your statements before making them , also following your logic , you must be very comfortable then when any foreigner thinks that we speak the language indian/hindu ... also since Kathak developed in mughal courts it should be called muslim classical dance? vishnu singh you realise your stupidity is beyond conception
@adarshsingh8457 жыл бұрын
lol kathak in mughal court man u are deluded..atleast think what u are speaking..!!!it is traceable to 400 bc in india..and u know flamingo,gypsies were migrated from india and they too perform kathak called flamingo there..try listening words of gypsies they are more close to sanksrit,hindi they left india 500 yrs before mughal..so stop ur bulshit bollywood story seeing kathak 1st time in anarkali "pyar kiya to darna kya"...read here..en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kathak
@jeromedelacour56927 жыл бұрын
samarth dhole Yes it is Hindu Classical Art - as it has was developed as art for storytelling and to spread knowledge of the Puranas, etc. You can't apply this logic to Western Music as majority was the outcome of Post-Renaissance 'enlightenment' when people disassociated themselves from the Church even more. During Renessance most art was in paintings and sculpture, and was largely christian-themed. Not music. If any, it was confined to church sermons, and funeral processions. At least research European history before you blab. Nor Kathak nor Hindustani were born out of Mughal Courts as you deludedly think. They were variants of existing forms our Art at that time in India. If the Mughals re-purposed it for their entertainment then it does not become their invention.

durbanpoison100 Your argument is flawed. Simply because each element of Classical Indian Art pleases/stimulates different senses. The instrumental, the vocal and the performing dance were strong tools of story telling and media in India. Claim that one is relatively or otherwise superior to the other is bullshit. All given the same importance - that's why they all are placed on the stage. No background-singers no record played. Compare her instrumental performance to this, and one would notice that the dancers expression and _mudras_ added meaning to the music. I'm guessing they avoided a vocalist as no one in the Western audience would understand what is being said.

lulz haahahahahahaha . we got plenty of vulgarity, and its great. (even in the classical forms, as they used to be before their brahminisation in the 20s)

i don't think Indian dance and music should be described as something free of nudity or vulgarity, because it's so much more than that 💞 it's beauty, tradition, spiritualness, a way of life. :)

What's wrong with nudity? Or vulgarity? Those things have no inherent right or wrong in them. No different from Indian dance.

Too bad the camera doesn't focus on hand movements ... they are the key of classical indian dance, not the dancer's waist.... the cameraman should have been briefed about it..

I focused on her hands, her wrists, her arms, shoulders. She's so beautiful and not to be trifled with. Respect and, my wish to understand. Thank you.

Ssookawai In Odissi waist is given importance along with hands !
@randomguy16016 жыл бұрын
Sindy Gita Exactly!!! One of my friends learnt The Odissi. You cant bend your waist back and forth, i.e.- you cant bend your backbone most of the time, at the a preliminary stage, they make the students to practice, by holding their back straight against a wall. So yes, waist is an important part, but still, the cameraman didn't focus on the Mudras that much...

Music and dance know no boundaries. Man made borders, and whipped up emotions don't divide people. Emotions are the same in all human beings.
