I found her KZbin channel, and she talks about all the people who helped her audition, and she is being mentored by a lot of popular guitarists. So, hopefully they can protect her from all the bad stuff.

For those who arent familiar with Maya, she is already an accomplished musician even before AGT. She has been recognized by several greats of the music industry, ranging from the Cliff Burton family, Slayer, Exodus etc. She has also visited the Gibson HQ at Tennessee and played with the CEO. Additionally , she is a student of Indian Guitarist Prasanna and has learnt Carnatic music. Adam Jones and Gary Holt have both sent her signed guitar. Quite a prodigy

Well chennai is music hub too if you are not aware . Please do visit chennai during mid November to December and step into one of the music sabhas such as music academy , Naradha gana sabha etc to witness the music festivals which attracts people from all over the world . Many Tamils have good exposure to music to a great extent . You can easily find wonderful teachers in almost in all the neighborhoods lol Edit : I just noticed that her teacher is Guitar Prasanna who is known for bringing those karnatic gamakams in guitar .

Too good, very happy that she comes from my city in Chennai , South India. Indian children are always taught classical music, classical dance, both Western & Indian instruments. Especially from the higher strata families, the children learn the above mentioned artforms. Very proud this ten years old girl, bravo. I am now 80 , i started to learn both classical dance known as Bharathanatyam, classical music & stringed instrument known as Veena. Culture is a must for Indians both in the South & North.
