Well, I know this is a 3 year old video, but Anova could thank you again cause you just sold me one of these containers to match with my Anova Pro circulator. I'm super excited to do my first ever sous vide cook.

So, I guess if you have endless storage space this would be cool. However, I use a large stock pot that I already had plus I purchased a $10 silicone pot cover from Target. I used an X-acto knife to cut an opening in the cover that exactly fits my Anova device and its bracket. If I am cooking vegetables at a really high temp, I wrap a towel around the pot for insulation. Works great and I don't have to store something that large.

cool, like i said in the video it is not for everyone. i have other containers I use also but this is great for larger items and for people who feed more people or those who are looking for something that is insulated.. this actually looks really nice on a countertop and some people have more counter space than others. this is not geared toward the occasional home cook, just like the Anova Pro circulator, it is for people who are looking for high performance.

I was actually about to purchase this myself and it sold out very quickly. In a way I’m glad I didn’t get it and waited because they came out with another container that’s see through and not as tall. I haven’t used it yet just like you I moved and my vacuum sealer is still in a box but can’t wait to get it out. Thank you for doing a review on this and good luck with the move.

Hey Chefrad ! I just received my Anova Precision Cooker Pro and I struggle to know which sous vide container to choose...So, which one is the most appropriate to use with Anova Precision Cooker Pro? The "Pro" version's head is square, not like the one in this video, and I wonder If it is the same diameter ( to be sure that it fits in the Lid hole ). Which one is the countainer you re talking about / appropriate ? Thanks in advance ;)

Steph Da Likoo I actually have the Anova Precision Container it’s $69.99. I will be using it with the Anova Bluetooth WiFi version. I haven’t used it yet but I did place the stick in the container to see how it fits and it fits great. I like that it’s see through and there is what they call a cooking rack on top to keep the food submerged or you,can you use a clip with it. The lip has a very good seal on it to prevent evaporation. I really like that it’s not too tall so it fits in my bottom cabinet perfectly and I leave the Anova in it. Hope this information helps.

purchasing this also :) I'm excited to get the things I've finally wanted for more efficient cooking at home, i used to be vegan so im not used to cooking red meat, I switched to grassfed meat and it's to expensive to mess up so that's why I wanted a sous vide among other things... I notice the anova goes down to 32 degrees, have you ever tried chilling wine in it?

@@FireWaterCooking thank you for you quick reply. I missed the Anova pro 50% off sale and I was a little hesitant on purchasing it for $399 then I stumbled on the Hydro pro plus. I have spent the past two days researching the Hydro pro plus and I think I’m going to go with this unit. Though it’s lacking the WiFi feature it just seems to be better built and the delta cooking capability is really intriguing and something that I would like to use. I’m familiar with Delta cooking in the commercial Rational Combi ovens. The last part of my research was finding a good sous vide Container so thank you for your help with that

It's double walled, but is it vacuum like thermos bottles? For example, if you touch the side or bottom after a long cook, is the outside room temp, or is it war./hot from the heat transfer? Thanks for the video!

@FireWaterCooking
@FireWaterCooking 4 жыл бұрын
it is worth the cost to me. But I am not everyone. I use sous vide 4-5 times per week and usually cook larger amounts, so it is worth it. it gets to temp faster and uses less power keeping it at temp. And it looks nice staying on top of the counter if need be..

Why did they paint the stainless steel black? Its easy to scratch, and the inside of the tank is rather dark.
@FireWaterCooking

I don't know why they painted it, but I like it.. mine sits on my countertop all the time..
@coppice2778

@@FireWaterCooking I'm indifferent about them painting the outside. Its really the painting of the inside that bothers me. Use wire racks against paint, and it won't take long for the paint to get scratched. The clear tank from Anova has an upper rack, that you can use to keep things below the surface and you can clip bags to. The insulated tank doesn't seem to come with a rack, or have anywhere to fix one. I find floating bags a hassle, especially when sous viding large chunks of meat, and I usually need to find something to weight them down. That rack makes the clear tank look appealing, but an insulated tank also has its appeal. It feels like they are still one or two rounds of product updates away from getting things right.
@FireWaterCooking
@FireWaterCooking 4 жыл бұрын
@@coppice2778 no, it does not come with a rack you are right, but as stated this is aimed at the professional and/professional kitchen.. I personally don't use racks that often and use 100% vacuum bags so no need to worry about clipping bags to the side. there are polycarbonate racks out there and there are many other ways to keep bags from floating.. so far I love this container, but it is not for everyone.. the clear container is definitely aimed more at the general public..
@coppice2778
@coppice2778 4 жыл бұрын
@@FireWaterCooking I gave up on sealed vacuum bags. They are great when you do dry things, like steaks, but we sous vide a lot of things with a considerable amount of liquid in the bag. That's probably fine with one of those professional chamber based vacuum sealers. With the consumer grade ones its too much of a balancing act to get all the air out, while not getting some marinade in the vacuum pump. :)

Hey boss, just seeking your opinion regarding container sizes. Do you feel it's necessary to invest in 2 different size containers e.g. this 20L double insulated and a smaller e.g. 12L container assuming cooking is done both in large preperation and smaller portions? or would you say that having just the one 20L container is still efficient even if cooking in big or small volumes. I was worried the 20L is too big but looking at the "smaller" 12L Anova one, it's only noticeably shorter on one end by about 10cm, still sounding similar in size on paper but having 8L less capacity.
