Hi Pete, Great review... I liked what I saw and bought the Camera. I'm in the middle of securing it at 20 feet in a over looking tree. My one question is what is the green tab for on the black front of the camera do?. I tried to pull it off thinking it was securing a removable scratch protection film. Hay, that sucker is ON there and didn't dare to pull it super hard. It never lifted or unstuck anything. I easily remove the small film on the round sensor at the top but Could you please enlighten me what green tab is supposed be for?? Thanks

Lol! I did the same thing you did. Tried to remove it but it was just stubbornly on there so I just left it. It is just a scratch protect film. :)

Solar powered cameras cannot record 24/7. The batteries will wear out.

I bought the four pack that come with base station ... Cameras work great .. My problem is this. I dont get notifications if my phone is not active..IE: If im surfing the net,I get notifications if movement is detected.. Now, when i go to bed and place my phone on the nightstand, i get no notifications. a relative stopped by, and i did not receive a notification, and he was well within the detection zone.. What gives?any help would be appreciated.

Pete, Thanks! I am looking into a solar security camera systems around the house. I need one that can be powered by solar alone all year round without manually charging it in Southern California. Do you think this unit fit my criteria?

Oh yeah, so far all of the solar security cameras tested are all still working by themselves. Even if I'm constantly using it to make the review video, the power is still pretty full. If you keep the live video feed on all the time it will drain out the batteries for sure but waking it up and checking it throughout the day is fine. I have a lot of security cameras all around the house. My issue is wifi overload :)

This is a wifi camera so if there is no wifi then no camera action. Solar cameras can't record all night so you need to get a bigger solar panel and add mor batteries or just get a power cord long enough and get a regular camera like a hand held video camera with a bigger micro sd card capacity.

The film has cutouts for the camera and the pir which were removed. However, the camera quality is not very good. Out of some 20 cameras around the house, this one is the worst one.

Does the place where the camera is need to be connected 24h/7 with wifi or is it enough with just having mobile data on your gadget to view? And also do you know if you can let access to someone abroad to directly monitor the cctv on their on gadgets by downloading the application and just enter the passport you set up for the cctv? The camera is on all the time in standby mode with motion detection. You can access the camera with your phone with mobile data or wifi from anywhere in the world with password to the camera.

Yes, all the video clips are saved by date and in mp4 video file so it is easy to view it with a pc.

My live camera shows clear pictures. The alert message images often are so bright that I can't see the images. It's not the sun, it happens on overcast days. Also a friend of mine has one and it doesn't happen to her. It happens to both of mine and they are in 2 different areas - outside.

The best way to set it up is to place the solar panel right above the camera unit.

U can change the recorded video. It has 10secs, 20secs and 30secs options. Tap the camera icon in the app then tap on settings. U will see alarm management. Tap on it then scroll up, u will see recording time. Tap on it u will see the options

Got product excited to get started watched videos of install. I unpacked product no SD card as you see above you can not power on until SD is inserted. Which means you have to buy one no where does it say that you have to buy one not even in the manufacturing video. Which forcing you to buy one or buy the monthly cloud storage. So deceptive. I call the manufacturer Francis stated that the produce does not come with one. Deceptive!

I wouldn't buy. I had a terrible experience. Never got my unit to work and customer/tech support wasn't very good in helping. Essentially wanted me to "fix" the new unit I purchased with equipment I didn't have and knowledge I don't have. Translation...it was all my fault. They did not honor a request for refund when the purchase period. Caveat emptor.
