As an automation and security installer since 1980. I think new technology is great and if you’re thinking of increasing the security of your home and office this equipment is so cheap it is worth the potential risk hell if you put a warranty on it and buy it from Amazon it’s a win-win but not all of it is reliable but I think a Wi-Fi camera on a solar powered platform is about as potentially unreliable as you can possibly get I always encourage people hardwire any of these cheap Ptz Camera’s avoid solar panels for the price it’s worth trying but I don’t think it will work consistently good luck

You raise a good point. But this type of gadgets were not intended for a highly secured area (a bank or a nuclear installation for example). These are consumer gadgets that come cheap and easy to install/use. I would assume, most households don't have any surveillance at all. In the advent of the IP camera, it is becoming common to install DIY systems.

@@zakariafarah1101 he’s not saying they won’t work but don’t be surprised if next year the solar panel don’t keep up the battery …. So unless you want to upgrade the battery in a year and possibly replace the solar panel with a higher quality one then maybe just look into doing a wired system . If you do a lil research cat5 cable is cheap and not hard to run and have it done once right for probably the same price as buying this and having to replace it every two years. Or upgrade its battery’s the one time most people need a security camera is at night or after the solar panels have not been working for hours to be generous. A wired system is a lil more actual work than just screwing this this to a wall and downloading a app hehe It depends on how long your going to be in the location your putting this in if your a renter then this is great if you own a home though it’s like building a good fence do it right the first time nothing worst than having to do things twice and do triple the work and pay for a good products anyway in the end.

While the solar panel provides reliable charging, the cameras performance may vary depending on the amount of sunlight available. During sunny days, no problems. However, during periods of limited sunlight or cloudy weather, the batteries may run out of charge if “woken up” constantly. Therefore, It's important to consider the weather conditions when relying solely on solar power. It does have micro usb charging so, plug it in on cloudy periods. I haven’t had any issues with just solar powered year round.

Great video! What happens when sd card storage is full? Can you remotely erase it or does the camera do it itself? Or it simply stops recording? Can its batteries last a ehole night if recording non stop? Did you play with batteries' capacity? To put larger mAh batteries for example?

It will loop record but I haven't gotten there yet on the 32gb card I've installed. I have actually taken out one of the battery since it is always 100% fully charged and it is still always at 100%.

Mine is still working and it is in direct sun all day. Maybe try and reset or restart from scratch. I noticed on one of the other cameras, a restart fixed its issues. If you bought it less than 30 days with prime you can replace it or money back.

App works without port forwarding. I can connect to the camera while out of town. Of course camera needs internet access. A tunnel is created when you use the app to login into your account. From there you can view you cameras. Live view. Settings. And stored events. Cloud or memory card.

it is always better to use the same mah size batteries when discharging and charging which is what this solar panel will do if you mix and match them in parallel if that is what you are asking. It will work if you mix them but I would either use all 2600mah or all 5000mah batts just to be safe.

I don't know how long it will record. It hasn't even recorded 1gb of the 32 gb card and I've had it for ever since the video. This is a wifi security camera so it will need wifi :) You will need a cellular camera if your cabin does not have wifi.
