It's a nice rifle for the modern hunter. What it isn't is a full-featured tactical rifle.

@@andymauthe5508 It lacks a monopod and other tactical features. This is a typical sport rifle. It is not a tactical rifle and it is not marketed as such. No military force uses it.

I agree that it’s not a military rifle. You originally wit was a modern hunting rifle and I would not agree with that. But in your response you called it a sport rifle and I agree with that. I own the Hunting version of the 1782 and it’s excellent. This APR version would not be ideal for hunting and isn’t marketed for that purpose. It would make an excellent competition rifle or maybe a long range predator rifle where you can set up in a stationary position. All in all a very nice piece I’m sure.

Is the action/receiver steel or aluminum ?...TIA

All steel. The receiver is machined from one solid block of steel. The only thing not made out of steel is the aluminum chassis.
