Thanks for watching. Which Ansel Adams D&D monster was your favorite?

This was a very inspired idea. Adams' gritty style is exactly the perfect antidote to the clean, glossy comic aesthetics of the new editions. Those work fine for 10-year-olds who want things to look cool, but they really fail at helping with immersion. I was inspired to try my own text-only prompts for Stable Diffusion, and I found the Adams monsters are, if anything, more "monstrous" than what's in the Monster Manual, but they also look like real individuals with real histories and perspectives.

If these came up out of the environment of a game I was playing, I would be genuinely horrified. You know, the way the game should make you feel at times. Well done, sir!

I love the realism some of these have, it makes them that much more unsettling, which monsters probably should be!

I agree. It's pretty wild.

I like the 60% shadow demon , at around the 7:00 mark. There's just something about it.

Great idea and amazing technology. I like the ones that make the monsters look "real" yet "surreal," like they came out of some creepy silent expressionism film from the 1920s.

stumbled across this as an artist that's just been exposed to AI art generation, and a DnD player. Excellent work. I feel most AI art stuff suits the gothic horror style immediately as it's so surreal and twisted. be interesting to see how this new artform develops over the next half a decade. Got a friend running a mathematical business whose staff are working with a few film companies around this very subject.

it is a brave new age in illustration.

It's going to be tough for unestablished illustrator to make a living. It's tough now but the value of illustration has effectively become zero.

So I'm just throwing this out there, but it seems like the next step here would be to generate an image of a monster, then try to craft it. Just sayin 😉 Love and appreciate your videos.
