Everybody is an expert on photography. Every refuse collector, or landscaper, or siding installer that every said Hi to Adams - is now a renowned expert not only on Adams but on photography. Someday Adams cardiologist and lab tech will write a book about Group 64. Goodness gracious sakes almighty, enough already.

When, as a young child, our family would vacation in Yosemite, it was not uncommon for me to shit my pants at night. Now...many years later...I can still remember the early morning mist and the pristine landscape of the Yosemite. I am near death now. And I'm back to shitting my pants. But I don't care. I will always love Yosemite and Ansel Adams.

It wasn't that he thought his time as a great photographer was behind him. It was because, imo, he didn't trust anyone to print his photos as fastidiously as he did. His age prevented him from hours and hours of work in the darkroom which was an integral part of his mastery of the art of photography.
