I've always liked Caleb because he didn't let the society change his choices and he did what he felt was best. He made a mistake in Insurgent and In Allegiant he is willing to die for forgiveness. He couldn't do anything about tris's decision, she made that herself.

Yeah I know she made her own decision. Caleb made a lot of mistakes and even if he wiling to die it doesn't make up for what he put Tris through.

The sociaty did it to him. Caleb was doing what he was taught was right. He later realized it was wrong. He realized later what he did was wrong. Tris did what she did for herself, he couldn't have stopped her.

This is a dystopian and post-apocalyptic world so maybe they removed things like phones you know. And this is like a really strict society so... Phones are like freedom and they don't really get that much freedom in this story ! :)
