Just bumped into this while searching something else. Must admit that the video was superb with loads of information on CB radio. The audio quality was just great while all the cool dudes in the video spoke with clarity. With the Indian government opening up the PMR frequency for free, radio communication has become a game changer for the RF enthusiasts thereby, clipping the monopoly of CB radios. Personally, I always prefer radios that are super portable with big power which can be operated from off-grid locales or remote areas. As a Ham enthusiast all these has been now fulfilled as the government of India has now allowed mobility of our rig, a big leap indeed. Cheers! 73s

Thanks, I am glad you liked the video! PMR frequency de licensing is a great move by government, I hope some fixed base units for cars become available in future. As of now handheld units are available. PMR surely is modern technology in comparison to vintage CB, CB have lots of squelch and disturbance.
@shandybrandy54074 жыл бұрын
@@Anshyuman I am sure very soon there would be also options for a PMR Base station which can be easily mounted in a car and also function as a home Base station. In India the maximum RF power out put for PMR is alloted to .005 milli watt or half watt while in the the US max RF output is 2watt. Having said that, I should admit that even a mere .005 mili watt, can cover a good distance with a PMR handy. Most PMR handheld sets have a fixed antenna that prevents mounting any third party high gain antennas. I guess this has been intentionally done so as to prevent the handy to cover longer range where it may interfere with other PMR users. Could be due to this, PMR car Base stations are being delayed.... or may be when they come up in the market it will have an effective internal fixed antenna... Let's hope for the best. Cheers!

Hey Anshuman, thanks for sharing! I have a few queries (probably very amateurish) 1) Can we buy and use just the CB Radio walkie talkie and use it to communicate with other cars carrying the same? Or is a base unit implementation mandatory ? 2) Where can we buy this from Gurgaon/Delhi? Would prefer to procure from a shop directly and not online considering the quality issues or frequent changing.
