Mark. In considering an ACA plan for early retirement, I've talked to a couple of people who were dropped from their plan with no explanation or warning. Do you know others who have been dropped and do you know any common reasons? Thanks

No actually, the only issue I’ve seen is people receiving letters that their coverage could be canceled if they don’t verify their income. However, this is easy to do and I’ve never seen anyone’s health coverage actually get canceled.

My tax preparer argued with me with Supreme confidence that I could no longer contribute to an HSA in retirement because contributions could only happen through employer payroll. I pushed back on this, demanded she look into this further, and eventually she conceeded I was correct without teling me I was right, or giving me any credit for teaching her something. I stopped using her services after that.
