I’m going to be a freshman this year at Purdue. Thanks for making this video!

Not considering finances, what do you think Purdue has on Clemson for engineering? Those are my two choices now and I'd love as much information as possible
@michaeljin54603 жыл бұрын
I might be slightly biased, but one of my profs freshman year taught at Clemson before coming to Purdue and he said he preferred Purdue's students and campus 🤷♂️😅

Please, I am going to be a freshman at purdue this fall. I have serious concerns about the cost and the scholarships and aids that i can get as an international student. Please can you talk about this?

I've been accepted to both Michigan and Purdue for engineering and I'm on the fence about where to go, was there a reason that you chose to go to Purdue over Michigan?
@mayafederle44304 жыл бұрын
Nate G I was in the same situation... ended up choosing Purdue because I’m in state and it was SO much cheaper. Idk if you’ve visited either but obviously you’re doing research - they have a lot in common so it’s a definitely a difficult decision Good luck!
@michaeljin54604 жыл бұрын
I actually was waitlisted at Michigan haha. That being said, I really did like Michigan, but it would've been more expensive had I gotten in, and a lot of people I've talked to complained about the separate engineering campus that you have to commute to if you live on main campus. On the flipside, Michigan's COE is slightly smaller that Purdue's, you are directly admitted to your major instead of FYE like at Purdue, and their social scene is a little more vibrant. Both are incredible schools and if finances aren't an issue you couldn't go wrong with either!

Aye thanks for this video I’m going to be a freshman at Purdue this fall as a physics major and in the honors college and I’m definitely really nervous but this video and all your day in the life videos make me feel a lot better so yeah thank you for that and sorry this comment is so long lol

From what I've experienced and heard from my friends who are already in the honors college, besides the nicer housing for freshman and priority registration, HC is not worth it. Most employers don't even care about whether or not you were in honors; however, the accountability the HC holds you on for your GPA is not bad and will definitely help. Kind of a double-edged sword since you have to take extra courses and have to maintain a 3.5+ GPA but gl.

I am debating whether to choose Purdue or IUB for Psychology. They are both financially equivalent but I’m wondering which is better. Which college is better for psychology? Will I get bored at Purdue since you’ve mentioned that it’s in the middle of nowhere? I’m having a hard time choosing.

LuRaY i go to Purdue but a good advice i have always kept in mind is to see which school invests in your interests. As an engineering major, for me of course Purdue was worth it. I know someone older who went to IUB for social work because they have a school dedicated to that, i would say IUB has better liberal arts based programs.

Hey! I am a psychology major at Purdue and I definitely recommend it! I can't speak for or against IUB, but the Purdue program is definitely great. All of my psych professors have been so amazing and made me fall in love with psych even more. Depending on what type of psych you are wanting to study or field you are going into, they have many research options both within the university and outside!

How do you think Purdue Polytechnic program vs Engineering School in Purdue?
@bryanthomas62904 жыл бұрын
So I got accepted into Purdue for finance, but I think I rather do data science or comp-sci at Purdue. How hard is it to transfer to either of these majors and when is the earliest I can apply for a transfer to a different school and major in Purdue? Thanks!
@michaeljin54604 жыл бұрын
It shouldn't be too difficult but it depends completely on major. It shouldn't be too difficult to transfer into data science, but I think CS would be more difficult. If you commit to purdue I would talk to your advisor asap and you might be able to transfer majors before you arrive in August! You can look more into it here www.purdue.edu/advisors/codo/requirements-201920/index.php

do you think I shud make a call in the next week or so? Haven’t committed to Purdue yet, cuz I’m still looking at all options
@michellea.m12984 жыл бұрын
I'm considering going to Purdue, I got accepted and my major would be Neurobiology and physiology and I would just like some advice like is this a good major at Purdue, should I go? My other option is U.Pittsburgh... but i really don't know. I've seen bad comments about Purdue yet their ranking is higher than U.Pitt so idk
@michaeljin54604 жыл бұрын
First of all, congrats on both schools. I would look at finances first if you cant decide. If both are similarly priced or cost isn't a big issue for you, I would definitely try to visit both and get a sense of each campus culture. If you can't visit either look up classes, clubs, program requirements, talk to people at each schools, look at social media, etc and go off of that. Rankings can be good but shouldn't be a main deciding factor. Go with which one fits you best. Hope this helps!

I'm coming to Purdue in 26 days for BGR. I'm wondering do you know about the ROTC program there? What "vibe" do the cadets give off?
@michaeljin54605 жыл бұрын
I don’t know much about the ROTC program, but the people I’ve met who are in it seemed really nice and down to earth!

I got accepted into Krannert school of management at Purdue although I applied for Industrial Engineering. I got into Penn state school of engineering for my first choice major. I just don't know whether I should risk going into Purdue and later attempting to change my major or just going into PSU. I need opinions asap
@Mitchee4 жыл бұрын
Mdr Music Hey funny you say that, I was accepted to my first major for computer science at every university i applied but Purdue, but i was accepted into Krannert Management as well. I am hoping to change majors as well, but I have already accepted admission at Purdue because I figured I will find some way to do what I want to do.

Is there internship in Purdue University? Like, internship in electives. and I know Purdue University is known for Engineering, but how's the communication major?
@michaeljin54604 жыл бұрын
From what I know Purdue has a solid communications program. Different majors will have different internship requirements. Most people generally have internships at companies outside of school though.

My daughter got accepted at Purdue for engineering but also thinking about u Minnesota or Oregon as a honer student ?
@michaeljin54604 жыл бұрын
First of all, congrats to your daughter! She has a few really great choices! I'd say consider price first but if you aren't worried about finances, I'd definitely argue Purdue has the strongest engineering program out of the three. Hope this helps!

Did your IB Diploma help you during the admissions process?
@michaeljin54605 жыл бұрын
I’d say it’s treated no differently than the AP program in the US, but being in either program demonstrates diligence and high academic rigor, something that looks good when applying to colleges!
