Correct. I think that the young woman in the video missed that verse. As the title of a book says: "Christianity is Christ". Christ means "The anointed One". Before the word "Christianity" took hold, the new religion/belief system that started in Jerusalem when Pontius Pilate was Governor was "The Way" or "This Way". My educated guess is that both of the people in the video (being born Jewish) have a "bad taste in their mouth" of the word "Christianity" because of the foul treatment Jews have received for centuries by people that are members of the Eastern Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, and especially the Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican and many "Reformed/Calvinist/Presbyterian" churches for centuries. Most of them follow the rotten concept cooked-up by Disgustin' Augustin of Hippo about the 5th Century A.D., which was "Replacement Theology". That rotten concept teaches that "The Church" has replaced "Israel" as God's Chosen people. That concept has led to imprisonment, extradition, mass murder of Jewish people, especially in the European area. Those groups (and the nations with nation churches) are part of the Dictionary/Encyclopedia definition/illustration of "Christianity". P.S. I hope the young woman in the video reads this post and gives it some thought. John 14:6

Ariel explained very well how the term “ Christian “ is a label adopted by unbelievers to refer to believers in Yeshua. It is important for either Jew or Gentile born again follower of the Messiah to search in the Scriptures how our heavenly Father calls us and who we are in His vocabulary!! How Yeshua refers to us and how the first believers referred to themselves. Yeshua said only the words that the Father told Him to say. Why do we think we can use our own words? Our vocabulary has to be purified from all kinds of words and concepts that were transmitted to us not by God but by man. These words, like Christianity, Trinity, New and Old Testament…, and so on are stumbling stones in the communication of the Good News of redemption and salvation. God never declared that a Jew becomes a “ messianic Jew “ and that a Gentile becomes a “ Christian” when becoming a follower of Yeshua. The Gentiles who believe are joined in the olive tree of Israel … like Ruth!

A recent song by a Jewish woman about the Indian culture tries to draw similarity between Israel and India. Though both these countries share friendly ties, their cultures are incongruous. The popular Indian system is based on ideas that depart from the Biblical faith. India has been home to Jews from time before Christ. Also, the earliest records of Christianity date back to the arrival of St Thomas in Kerala and St Bartholomew on the periphery of present-day Bombay. This is either unknown or is not acknowledged by some Indians. Most of the jingoistic pro-Israelis tend to be non-supportive of Christianity in India. Here lies the irony. The "right" here is not the same as the right in other countries.

Thanks for the interesting video. Just wanted to share my critical thoughts, not in a harsh manner of course. Firstly let me start off by saying: I am an Oriental Orthodox Christian. Here are some key issues I saw with the analysis provided in this video. Firstly I think the original comment you were responding to has a good point. It said "you have to become a Christian even if you are a Jew" and that is true. Even according to the definition provided in the video Christians are "Christ-folllowers" and hence Jews absolutely _have to_ become Christians to be saved. To say that a Jew, just because of the sake of the first election, _will_ be saved even if he does not become a Christian, is to go against the entire narrative of the New Testament. Christ created a New Israel, the Church. He makes this explicitly clear in the Parable of the Vineyard. He says _the kingdom will be taken from them and given to others more worthy_ , thereby showing that the old Israel will give way to the New and Fulfilled Israel, God's truly chosen, the Church. I don't get why you took such an offense at the initial comment tbh. 1:10 - Christians 3 times in NT. This argument has deep flaws because it supposes that the number of times a particular term is indicated in the NT is an index of it's importance. If that is the yardstick one has to go by, then one has to do away with the doctrine of the Trinity (as the word is found _nowhere_ in the NT) and become a unitarian heretic. 2:08 - in Christ. The interpretation provided in the video is completely at odds with what the NT means by "in Christ". This is not some psychological state of being. It is being present _in the Body of Christ_ , which is clearly stated to be the Church. And this Church, St. Paul says in 1 Timothy 3:15, is the _pillar and foundation of the truth_ . The Church is not just a collection of believers with random and conflicting ideas and doctrines, it is a unified body, bought by Christ, founded by the Apostles and led by the Spirit. To be "in Christ", one has to be a part of His Body, which is His Bride, His Church. 3:35 - Natural continuation. I am quite surprised that Messianic Judaism is portrayed as the natural continuation of the faith of the prophets. I'll just list a few things which the Old Testament prophets' faith possessed: liturgical worship, prayers, priesthood, incense, altar, etc. Are these things present in Messianic Judaism? I do not think so. How then do you say that Messianic Judaism is the true continuation? All these things are very much present in Orthodoxy. As a parting word I wish you all the very best. Hope you find my insights useful. May you find the way, this path strewn with weeds and dust, this path which is drenched with martyrs' blood, this path, through which saints of ages have trod. May you find peace and rest, in the arms of God in His Church, most blest.

🫱In the beginning God made the heaven and the earth and everything in them. God created man in His image, after His likeness and named him Adam. The LORD God commanded the man saying, "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." God said that it was not good for the man to be alone, so He created a woman (Eve) from one of Adam's ribs, to be his helper. The serpent (Satan - See Revelation 12:9) was in the garden and he beguiled Adam's wife. She ate from the tree and gave the fruit to her husband and he ate of it, disobeying God's commandment. That day they both died spiritually and eventually, physically. Because of the fall everyone is born spiritually dead and in bondage to sin. We must be given a spiritual resurrection (born again) before we can see the Kingdom of God. - You can read all about creation and the fall of man in greater detail in the book of Genesis. None of us are good, we have all broken God's Law (Sin is the transgression of God's Law), many, many times. God's written Word teaches us that in our unregenerate state our hearts are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked and that we are at enmity against God. While many go after false gods and make idols for themselves, Scripture tells us that no-one seeks God. Scripture tells us that there is not a just man upon earth, that does good, and does not sin and that all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. God knows everything about you. He knows what you do in secret and He knows your every thought, even those thoughts you don't want anyone to know about. There is nothing you can keep from God and there is nowhere you can hide from Him. God is good, gracious and merciful, He is Holy, Holy, Holy, and perfectly Righteous. He is omnipresent (everywhere present), omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing). He is the Just Judge and so He must and will punish everyone who dies in their sins. When you die and face God at the judgement, if He does not see Christ's righteousness when He looks at you, you will be found guilty for your sins and you will be cast into the lake of fire. The Lord Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. He was born of a virgin and lived a perfectly sinless life that we do not. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man can come to the Father but by Him. The Gospel is the Good News about what the Lord Jesus Christ did for His people when He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave on the third day for our justification. One day your soul will be required of you by your Creator. Today could be your last day on earth. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:27-28 And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust. Acts 24:15 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Daniel 12:2 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15 If you repent and believe the Gospel, confessing with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believing from your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. My hope and prayer is that you will repent and come to the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.

If you are in Christ, you are Christians. Jews who follow Christ are Christians. Gentiles who follow Christ are Christians. If you are in the Messiah, you are messianic. Jews who follow the Messiah are messianic. Goyim who follow the Messiah are messianic. Those who belong to the Jewish Messiah are the true children of Avraham. ''Then what advantage has the Jew? What is the value of being circumcised? Much in every way! In the first place, the Jews were entrusted with the very words of God.'' Romans 3:1-3. ''16 Now if the hallah offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole loaf. And if the root is holy, so are the branches. then don't boast as if you were better than the branches! However, if you do boast, remember that you are not supporting the root, the root is supporting you.'For, brothers, I want you to understand this truth which God formerly concealed but has now revealed, so that you won't imagine you know more than you actually do. It is that stoniness, to a degree, has come upon Isra'el, until the Gentile world enters in its fullness; and that it is in this way that all Isra'el will be saved. As the Tanakh says, "Out of Tziyon will come the Redeemer; he will turn away ungodliness from Ya'akov Romans 11:16,18,25-26. ''Indeed, it is obvious that he does not take hold of angels to help them; on the contrary, "He takes hold of the seed of Avraham." Hebrews 2:16. ''at that time had no Messiah embodying God's promise. You were in this world without hope and without God. But now, you who were once far off have been brought near through the shedding of the Messiah's blood , you are fellow-citizens with God's people and members of God's family.'' Ephesians 2:12-13,19 ''And as many as order their lives by this rule, shalom upon them and mercy, and upon the Israel of God!'' Galatians 6:16. "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads!" I heard how many were sealed - 144,000 from every tribe of the people of Isra'el: From the tribe of Y'hudah 12,000 were sealed from the tribe of Re'uven 12,000 from the tribe of Gad, 12,000 from the tribe of Asher 12,000 from the tribe of Naftali 12,000 from the tribe of M'nasheh 12,000 from the tribe of Shim'on 12,000 from the tribe of Levi 12,000 from the tribe of Yissakhar 12,000 from the tribe of Z'vulun 12,000 from the tribe of Yosef 12,000 from the tribe of Binyamin 12,000.'' Revelation 7:3-8. ''Then I looked, and there was the Lamb standing on Mount Tziyon; and with him were 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. I heard a sound from heaven like the sound of rushing waters and like the sound of pealing thunder; the sound I heard was also like that of harpists playing on their harps. They were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living beings and the elders, and no one could learn the song except the 144,000 who have been ransomed from the world.These are the ones who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins; they follow the Lamb wherever he goes; they have been ransomed from among humanity as firstfruits for God and the Lamb; on their lips no lie was found - they are without defect.'' Revelation 14:1-5. ''He carried me off in the Spirit to the top of a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city, Yerushalayim, coming down out of heaven from God. It had the Sh'khinah of God, so that its brilliance was like that of a priceless jewel, like a crystal-clear diamond. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates; at the gates were twelve angels; and inscribed on the gates were the names of the twelve tribes of Isra'el.'' Revelation 21:10-12. ''Therefore, let the whole house of Isra'el know beyond doubt that God has made him both Lord and Messiah - this Yeshua, whom you executed on a stake!' Acts 2:36.

What do you think to joining a small church whom members and leaders give false promises, even shouting at someone and realising that someone was not in the wrong, and then giving zero apology? This is the situation I’m in right now. I honestly trusted this church, with my trust of people already broken. It’s very difficult attending the church now, and I’ve mentioned the issues. Not seeing any justice at all. How can the words “we are family” or “we are there for one another” be thrown around so easily with zero action involved?
@martinscrapp71663 ай бұрын
Perhaps don't look for an apology. Instead, let their guilt over their false teachings/promises, their conduct, and you knowing that, they know that you were correct, be a lesson for them to learn. Stand on His promises only. Sounds like you need (we all need...) to put on the armour of God (Ephesians 6:13-17) and wield the sword (which is His word) with all the expertise the Holy Spirit gives each of us. And remember: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." . Another thought also...it could be that the Lord put you in that church for this very reason - to get them back onto the narrow path that leads to Life.
@AdamJacobDaniel3 ай бұрын
Thanks for saying mate. Well, the reproof part stuck out at me most. Seems like there’s zero accountability for bad actions. God has used people in the church to speak with me. This seems, and has always seemed even when I was more partial to the evangelical Messianic things, like a very silly and fallacious point of reason. The Acts and the Epistles are historical documents written to historical persons who have a faith in the real world which was delivered on to their children during before and after these writings in the New Testament, they are one community of many communities, a blend of Jews and Greeks etc, who were called Christians and accepted the label as a blessing - Luke mentions it as a matter of fact of an ongoing thing “they were first called Christian”. It is so incredibly asinine to both us Christians and traditional Jews that you insist on this futile and even antichristian rhetoric. On the one hand you drive the axe to make a complete and real distinction between a faithful/messianic Jew, and a Christian; and then at the same time you behave as though you want both to be together as members of the same faith and communities worshiping together in shared houses of prayer when even ‘Christian’ itself is Greek for Messianic! Please forgive me, but it does seem to be duplicitous and double minded and that it would be better if you let your “Yes be Yes and your No be No”. Those of us who believe know that for a Jew to believe and follow Christ is to practice Judaism faithfully, and for the nations to follow Christ is to walk in the same Holy Spirit which works in us both by the grace of God and through faith - which we confess in common. But the practical reality is that so called traditional Judaism is now very different from the religion of the apostles which it has repudiated for almost two thousand years, and to walk faithful in the Messiah - in the religion of the apostles - is to do something and become something which is different from Rabbinic-Talmudic Judaism. And if you say that it is not different then you are a liar liar pants on fire and everyone sees how much you are burning. I don’t think this is your intention, but this constant push against becoming Christian is obfuscating.
@Handlehandlehandle3203 ай бұрын
So as someone who labels himself orthodox and boasts on being the true linage of the church and traditions rather than seeing how far you’ve come from the original disciples you decide that you would know better and have created a better priesthood? (Clearly not even close to truth, for many reasons). This is the irony of the Orthodox, have you thought for a second that to be truly Orthodox is to be truly be more Jewish. Not what you have in your idolatrous churches. White washed tombs, with obvious disdain for the Jews. Disgusting truly.

They want to still call themselves the chosen people without thinking about what they were chosen for, which was to deliver the Messiah unto the Earth. He's been delivered, they were chosen, now everyone's chosen who so chooses. But that would mean they wouldn't get to feel special anymore. Also they still want to identify with Jews in history so that they can continue to parade their victim status around. It's despicable, ahistorical, and deeply tribal.

I have recently found these videos and have found them to be a blessing. This one I found a bit odd. I'm not sure 3.5 minutes is enough to fully form this message, as I have questions. I would start by defining what "converting to Christianity" means from your perspective. I am asking this as there appears to be a cultural aspect I'm not completely understanding. I tend to refer to "conversion" as along the lines of becoming a new creature, for example 2: Cor 5:17. Being born again John 3:16, Ez 36 (regeneration). Repent and be converted (turned) Acts 3:19. You covered it a bit when speaking about being in Christ. Passed from death unto life, 1 John 3:14. I'm only asking because I'm not sure why this type of criticism would bother one and I would like to understand the cultural pressures/influences. I can see a couple of different categories; for example Rabbinic Judaism and disciples of Christ. It would see that some form of labels would need to exist, even if it highlights "Inwardly Jewish versus externally Jewish"; Romans 2:28-29. That category difference is pretty important in the context of things like 1 John 3:14, when speaking of "loving the brethren". If you whole point is that Christ didn't come to abolish the law, but fulfill it; Matthew 5:17 Very true in the sense that the New Testament is as Jewish as the Tanakh. Salvation is of the Jewish people, the Gentiles have been grafted in - Romans 11. God bless.

I think that everyone who follows Jesus Christ and His teaching can be called "christian". But not everyone who called him/herself christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. So in my opinion if they are baptized, follow Jesus Christ teaching and believe that He has died for our sins and then rose from the dead then there is no reason to don't call them christians in first place. Moreover "Messianic Jews" can be translated as "Christianic Jews". Am I wrong? In the end it is not right to demand from them to be converted to one of officially existed christian denomination if they are already following Jesus Christ because we(who are christians) are not Saviour but Jesus Christ is. I think checking that they are honest and true followers of Jesus Christ is enough to be in spiritual connection with them.

@essenceofgrowing78043 ай бұрын
Also, The word translated “convert” is actually the word “teshuva” (aka repent). This means turn back around. This means you were headed one direction… you then walking away from the faith and end up into sin…and you need to turn back around. This does not describe a gentile… since the gentile was never on the ancient path. For the gentile it was never “turn back around.” The gentile wasn’t given the Word of God. They didn’t have the light. The Pharisees had a “convert” issue with their system of prerequisites (for the gentiles and the Israelites that had been scattered and lost their identity). Yeshua, Paul and the disciples took an issue with them for this. While the gentile didn’t need to convert… they did need leave behind pagan worship. Truth is most Protestants and Catholics have this same Pharisee salvation earning prerequisite issue. I grew up in the Baptist church and it was very elitist and legalistic. They’ll tell you “come as you are” but they really want you to conform to their denominational Torah rejecting doctrine and manner of doing “church.” You’ll be shined and made to feel uncomfortable until you walk and talk like them. They do think in terms of Jews leaving behind all Jewish culture. They don’t require this of other people of other nations. I’m a follower of Yeshua and attend a messianic congregation today. I’m in my 50’s. Grew up mostly Protestant. Most of the people in mainstream Christianity only superficially support Israel… corporately only as a political nation. They don’t see themselves as being grafted in and no longer gentiles. I have friends and family who support Israel, they claim to follow Jesus, but they think I’m in a cult for resting on the sabbath. I have meet Jewish people that have come to know about Yeshua when they were young (teens or young adults) by younger Protestants. These younger Protestants are freer as they did not have a full slate of Protestant doctrines holding them down. This is why some Jewish believers today have a flowery view of Protestants. The longer you’re in the Protestants and Catholics communities… the most you really start understanding what the people at the top really believe about “Jews.” While I would consider anyone with faith in Jesus as believers and brethren… I also know that the older ones are not so kind to Jewish people or the Jewishness of the messiah! You can extend the right hand of fellowship to them but it’s the older ones who have gone deeper into Replacement Theology who think in terms of converting and are much harder to convince of anything from the hebrew perspective. Gnosticism is a big problem at the top in the Protestant and Catholic Churches.

@@Hello-bi1pm I think I see now what you’re asking. You can speak to those in Judaism who have embraced Kabbalhaism but you won’t be successful reaching them according to the philosophy (wisdom) of man. In other words, You can’t out philosophize the philosopher using their philosophy against them. First you have to get cosmogany right according to scripture… then one has to get soteriology correct according to scripture… the eschatology falls right into place. You get the first two correct then you really find no need to get into discussions of animus or anima (or consciousness). Carl, gnostics and Kabbalah all stand on Platonism (to some agree or another). You’d have to help such a person understand that even though we live in a fallen world it doesn’t mean the material world is evil. Gnosticism comes in many forms and has permeated all religions. It sounds highly sophisticated and feels like secret knowledge or insight. One simply needs to understand that the law of God is a light that shines the darkest parts of our hearts. We repent and come back in line with God. That’s the “alignment” we all need. It’s actually very simple. So simple that it frees us up to go out and preach the gospel to simple people- which is foolishness to those who think they are wise.

We get to have Shabbat and Sunday. Fabulous. We have given our lives away for what? We have given our lives to loving the LORD our God with all our hearts, souls, mind and strength, and our neighbours as ourselves.

Being a born-again Christian is perhaps the main point the person who wrote in the comment tried to make (if we omit the word heresy which is offensive) and the point the brother and sister in Christ in this video are making. Basically, the main idea is to be BORN-AGAIN, and that's something Yeshua Himself did mention, and Nicodemus asked Him about secretly because he was afraid of the Jews. One thing worth noting is that God in the New Testament considers both believing Jews and believing Gentiles as the Church and no longer as just Jews or just Gentiles. In fact, in the New Testament, just the label Jews or just Gentiles refers to the unbelievers or to those who haven't heard the Gospel (Good News) yet. By the way Christian = Messianic. There's nothing to fear or feel disgust about the term Christian because it means a follower of Christ (Christos in Greek) which means Anointed One which in Hebrew is Messiah. In Christ / Messiah we are one People, His People if we are truly born-again by the Spirit of God in Yeshua/Jesus. In reality, Christian is an honorable term among the nations, where such a person is expected to resemble Jesus/Yeshua and His Disciples. Lots of people may identify as Christians but they have not experienced a New Birth in Jesus/Yeshua and through His Holy Spirit which usually shows by not resembling the Savior's behavior and heart. Thus, if we are born-again then we are part of God's Family/Church where believing Jews and believing Gentiles belong and are One People of God.
