@@leeminho7197 standard is definitely higher here from what I observe. People value art/design more & I hope Philippines would too. I can tell from watching Filipino shows, it seems like their production budget/standard is really low. Living situation is different in the Philippines and it's probably the reason why parents discourage their kids to pursue a career in a creative field. At the end of the day it's all about the money. "Do you have money to feed your family?" . . . Just my thoughts, not to offend anyone.

@@ellona3645 true. As I can tell naman mayaman ka kasi nasa Switzerland ka kaya di problema kahit arts ang kunin mo. Pag ordinaryong pilipino lang di afford mag risk sa low demand job. Feeling ko din ang mga filipino di pinapahalagahan yung arts at small details sa bawat bagay. Mukha padin ditong nasa 80's 90's napagiiwanan mg ibang bansa na magaling sa arts at technology like korea, japan, china, etc. Gusto ko din multimedia pero realized ko tong totoong mundo. Nakapag work na ako kakatapos ako 2 years pero sobrang baba at malayo sa course. Wala rin ako nakikita hiring about multimedia dito online, free lance abroad. Kaya balak ko ulit mag aral ng pero comsci nalang tapos self study ko tong multimedia arts. And mag mag iipon ako pang masters ko sa western country at dun mag tratrabaho. Kung sana lang mangyari

Ate, I also have the same problem I'm always passionate when it is art-related and that's why I wanted to enroll in an art and design strand Sadly, I couldn't because of financial difficulties and distance I live in Bantayan Island, and the available strand there is just STEM, ABM, HUMSS, and GAS No art and design I'm a STEM student but I still want to pursue my dreams enrolling in MMA It is also a pressure for me when I take " Career Guidance " It's because everyone is in meds, engineering, architecture, etc. ( well, it's STEM, obviously ) And I have to pretend that I wanted to be an architect to fit in It somehow tires me to pretend to be someone I never wanted to be in the future By the way, I'm self studying in arts Or any art related and that also includes MMA I also love editing or filming, photography, digital or traditional art Despite in STEM, I'm also preparing myself for MMA

Hello! I just graduated as a STEM student this May and I'm going to take MMA this school year. Well dati gusto ko mag compsci but been researching for months and decided I would pursue MMA and self-study programming. I know classmates and friends who will took courses that isn't related with their strand. Don't be pressured by the society! Take what you really want and kung saan ka talaga passionate. In the end we are the one who will benefit from it not them.

@@Meowycarr That's okay! Alam mo ngayong MMA ako madaming hindi magaling magdrawing, edit, photography, etc. Kaya nga tayo magtatake ng MMA para magaral e so don't think about it. Pero mas better if magpractice practice ka na kahit basics lang, ndi naman need maging magaling agad kasi nanggaling lahat ng magagaling dian.

Maggragrade 10 plang ako pero excited na ako magMMA dahil supposed to be Animation ako. Dahil gusto ko maging Animator, kaso sabi ng mga kaklase ko sayang yung iba kong talent sa traditional and photography sooo second choice ko MMA anndd since may traditional, animation and graphic art or web design nagustuhan ko na rin siya kailangan ko nalng magaral ng editing and videography. I’m a BSIT freshman student and since our semestral break naiisip ko nang huminto to pursue what i want and yon ay ang arts, photography, videography ganon pre HAHAHA mahilig kase talaga ko mag drawing and my mind keeps imagining creative things. wahh~ im glad i found this video- im Currently a grade 11 ICT student, (which i took because my school doesn't have art and design strand and my school only have ABM, STEM, GAS, HUMMS and of course, ICT) And Im thinking about kung anong kukunin ko sa collage- Later on, I saw what MMA is and unfortunately konti lang ang video about MMA- also because of what you said, im kinda glad that i took ICT strand (which focus on technology, computers, programming, animations and stuff) and at least know how to editing works- also i enjoy drawing traditionally and Digitally. Hey, don't feel bad pag hindi kayo magaling mag drawing. Ako nga hindi rin ako marunong magdrawing yung tipong stick man lang kaya kung idrawing, pero nung nakapagtapos ako ng highschool kinuwa ko agad BMMA nung nag college ako, and mind you hindi pa ako marunong magdrawing nun. Now few years have past paganda na ng paganda yung mga artworks ko. What i'm saying is wag kayong mawalan ng pagaasa, kung passion niyo talaga o dun talaga kayo magiging masaya sa course nayun Go for it! kaya niyo yan lahat ng pagsubok nalalampasan.

u should tell ur parents about that before mahuli ang lahat kasi ako ganun din they wanted me to take civil engineering course and for the whole year sa civil napagtanto kong arts pla hilig ko, i am passionate about it. at first natatakot ako to speak my heart out to my family and once nung sinabi ko na they gravely disagree about it kasi daw ano bang makukuha mo sa multimedia arts. then i told them that maraming big opportunities na makukuha ko dito like its fuckn 2019 we are in a modern period, i told them MMA might not be like other courses by profession but i am always looking at the positive side. success is not base by those fuckin courses but being wise will lead u to success. i really fought for it and insist na this is what i wanted to do with my life and i wouldnt want to suffer mistake from others, my own choice my own mistake. and until up now pinag aawayan pa rin namin pero im sure im doin pretty fine. maybe oras na para unahin mu naman ung puso mo this time... ;) and be wise

hi ate! ask ko lang kasi di po ako magaling sa trad arts. are the profs strict na dapat impressive or marunong po talaga sa trad arts?? also, kapag po magaapply for sda, do they only accept those who are really talented sa art? and 100% scholarship lang po ba inooffer nila or may ibang percentages din po?

nope! They are not strict and that’s what i like about the profs kasi they really teach the ones who doesn’t know how to draw or paint, etc. There are different types of scholarships merong honors or services like part ka ng Yearbook team or Press corps, etc. There are percentages din you can check Benilde’s website for more info 😊

I'm STEM student and mostly ng pinag aaralan is for engineering, meds, or archi. At first talaga nung grade 9 ako, I took STEM po kasi I wanted to be an architect, mostly traditional plates, basic lines chuchu yung tinuturo po hanggang sa autocad na, then later on this year I realized na mas umaangat ako in terms of editing, drawing especially portraits po either trad or digi, tapos mas narealize ko rin po na mas masaya ako roon. Sinuggest nila sakin is fine arts, but gusto ko pang mag explore that's y mma ang gusto ko ng kunin.
