I have a question about material/crucible. I am wanting to cast chess pieces in copper and aluminum. I ran across this product and thought maybe this would work for what I am desiring. Can I use this for non precious metals like aluminum alloys? Or are there any other methods that might work better?

Hi Andrew If the arm was straight the metal would fly over the side of the crucible when released that’s the main purpose of the bent arm in a horizontal casting machine

My metal is splashing out. What could I be doing wrong?

Perhaps the metal is not being forced directly into the hole in the flask? Or the sprue hole in the flask is too small.

I think the flask might be ok the hole in the crucible might be to small. Its a large ring about 2.5 oz
