Pundit.. alternate definition. Person paid to distract us from the fact that professional sports franchise have secrecy levels that rival organized crime in the glory days and there is absolutely no chance that any of us can do anything other than run probabilities and statistics and TRY and do math with the equations that exist. Yall should tell the story behind Ernie Davis pick. George Preston Marshall was a small and petty man. That's why when yall old OLD school fans talk... I don't even listen. If you were a fan of this team before Coach Allen era. I don't even need to hear your opinion. Our team history is gross before 1969(when we hired Vince)

Funny how loyalty to a team stops, or doesn’t equate, when it’s convenient. You don’t see people talking down on a fan base, because they are and have been fans of the Clippers, because of Donald Sterling. The Panthers, because of their former owner. In a league FULL of racist WHITE men, the original owner was the most racist. The TEAM was here. And nobody was paying attention to the history of the business owner, unfortunately; but predictable, given the scene I set above. And those types of men will always love who they see as a slave for them. This ain’t that, and that’s why guys are coming back. Some of us know and lived the history. You just “look it up” and form an opinion, based on evolution of society, which helps your recency. What you said about GPM is 100% facts. But the team is the team. And when they win, even when they say it to ownership; it’s about those men that actually went through that war together, on the ground, sacrificing for real.

Excellent points. I wasn't making a grand statement. Just showing off really. Everything you said was eloquent and I agree. Also.... my dad told me the stories of the old days. I didn't look them up. I'm not afraid to be ashamed of history and at times, I have been ashamed to be a redskin/commander. I don't need to make excuses or explain it away with past ignorance. Past ignorance still contributes to what is going on in the present. Also. Sterling was removed. I would not have been a fan of a team with an actively racist owner. Not the clippers. Not the commanders. Not anyone. I always wondered why there are so many older, black cowboys fans around the dmv. I would've been one of them. I became a fan in 80. My dad told me about the old days

I became a fan in 1999 (I was 8 at the time). I admit, I had no clue about the racist history of the team based on GPM until I started college. Many fans still exude that (wanting the old name back, etc.) without truly knowing, or even not caring about the past history. Society has evolved and I've accepted the "Commanders" name solely because the history of the team (much like a lot of American history) is severely flawed. Everyone knows about Dan Snyder's mess. The team under the ownership of Josh Harris and Co. has a bright future on and off the field in today's society.
