Great advice -- as always! ❤ One comment in favour of studying monologues: The advantage of working on a monologue is learning to use your acting skills without any help from your scene partner(s). You only have yourself to rely on. This can be scary. A monologue is a scene too, but you have to draw all creative power from within yourself. My acting coach even made me imagine concrete reactions or replies of my monologue "scene partners" to the finest detail throughout the whole monologue. We were working on this for days and it often felt like torture, as she frequently changed the prerequisites of the scene, giving different directing cues. This requires a lot of concentration and discipline -- and technical weaknesses show immediately and without mercy, while you can sometimes get away with it in a dialogue scene with a good scene partner. My teachers used to say if you fail to be interesting, entertaining and convincing on your own, you won't be a strong actor in a scene either. I agree that acting scenes is equally important, especially for camera acting. And I have also seen theatre actors struggle a litte with camera acting too, because different skills are required.

@ActingCareerCenter
@ActingCareerCenter 3 жыл бұрын
@@balanvictor3760 If this happens on set, the director will have to decide how much time they are willing to spend on the scene because any extra time will take away from time budgeted for other scenes. But as you move forward in your career, you will learn that a headshot is not just a picture of you but rather a marketing tool. Most actors have multiple headshots to help convey the different types of roles that they can play. For example, take a look at the heashots for my friend Jessica. Since this is kurt channel, i can only recommend you to take it with him just to respect him and because he is very good! ♥️ i can send you other options : teampatri2020@gmail.com btw private acting classes are so much better. Specially when you can find an " audition class" meaning if you have to rehearse a script for an audition you can hire someone for that. But if you have never taking acting classes before is better to find someone that can focus on your goals for acting and start from scratch everything. To find the right coach is so important! I suggest you do a casting yourself and book with several people to see who you can work best with and also who match your budget.

But if what you are looking is a college that can accept you and you move to the states with a student visa.. then thats different. But even if you do, you would still need a private acting coach♥️ is just so much easier and you save so much money because the classes are focus on your need.
