As a mature and non-traditional student who applied to university without A Levels, it’s really hard even finding grad schemes with entry requirements that I satisfy. With my AAT level 3, I only have 56 UCAS points. The thing is, I’m on track for a 1st, and find myself outperforming the younger students (at uni) who meet the regular entry requirements for most of these gard schemes. Will keep persevering and applying; it’s become my pastime these days. EY and PWC are 2 of the ones that have loosened their requirements in recent years.

Don't be disheartened. Most employers, especially the big 4 and other major firms actually say apply if you hold the relevant higher education qualifications, especially if you're on track for a first and hold AAT level 3, I cannot imagine they would decline you a chance. A lot of it will come down to how well you perform in the online assessments and additional assessments afterwards.

Great video Paul! I'm starting a graduate audit job next month and have already realised that I would like to pivot into management consulting / product manager @ tech in the future. I’m interested in doing banking and finance at Cardiff and then go on to do a masters in finance would you say it’s possible to go into accounting with those qualifications if banking doesn’t work out?

Yes, more than enough for getting a grad scheme at big4. You can always go online and look up the entry requirements for the roles you want to target
