@@genten777 I'm guessing it's about salary and choice of trip. Stella explains from time to time that seniority gets more choice over flights, so the more desirable destinations may have gone to FA with more years service. Also, on salary from Stella's comments only getting paid when doors are shut... just see the part where Stella gives 3 'cons' of being FA about half way into this video.

Definitely someone wants to send you a message. I had a dream about my Grandmother about six months after she passed away. (Definitely hard to talk about.) I saw her in the nightgown she always wore, and I smelled the Palmolive Gold soap she always used. I gave her a hug, and said: "What's Heaven like?" She responded "Beautiful." I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned to see The Blessed Virgin. I fell to my knees, and the BVM touched my face and said: "No more questions." With that I woke up, and had this wonderful calm feeling. My grandmother was in intractable pain the last year and a half of her life, and I know she's no longer in pain. So yes, I believe either your grandmother or someone is trying to send you a message.

After my husband of over 40 years passed away, I would hear just 3 knocks( it has to be 3) or a light bulb on a parkway lamppost would blow out just before I drove by. I was told that it was his spirit telling me that he was still with me. It happened so often. Years have passed now and those strange things no longer occur. I guess his spirit is now at rest. It has never happened with my other loved ones who have passed away.

Stella this may help: ♥ To hear knocking in your dreams suggests that your subconscious is trying to attract your attention to some aspect of yourself or is a wake up call in your situation. Knocking in a dream could also mean you have lost focus on something particular and you need to refocus. This could also mean you will have new opportunities offered in your life or new people trying to be a part of your life. The decision to accept this new opportunities and people in your life solely lie with you. Dreams about knocking signifies the need to pay attention to a particular aspect or issue in your life.

It's not required. I applied at 50, got the job. What stands out for me is the sheer desperation among all the people there with me. It was literally palpable. No way was I going to put on an act, and no one else should either. Which is why I think I sailed right through.
@genten7773 жыл бұрын
Darlene: Actually an attractive smiling face was a requirement in the 60s, 70s. and 80,s not much any more. All you got to do is fly these days and you will see for yourself how many smiles you get on board!. The quality of flight attendants hired today has gone down considerably to the way it used to be in the past. Hiring now has become VERY subjective. If the interviewer likes you ( for what ever reason)you will get the job!! I myself have noticed some very qualified people rejected and trailer trash accepted!!

Height matters when you want to be a FA, as you have to be able to reach the safety equipment on your tiptoes. Also, weight matters, as you have be able to fasten the harness on the jumpseat.
@genten7773 жыл бұрын
Mariarita: Are you sure? The last time I flew , one of the flight attendant was so big that she had to walk side ways in the aisle way. Granted that the aisle was not too wide as it was a 737 jet but still she was big!! Airlines can not any longer deny work to big boys and girls as it is no longer PC to do so. They (flight attendant) can say that they can do their job and that is all that matters!!
@maryrou823 жыл бұрын
Yes I am sure. I am FA in Europe and during my interview they tested my height by making me reach into one of the hatbins to make sure I could grab the fire extinguisher and also sit in every jumpseat (in the mock area) to make sure I fit. The belts on the jumpseat can go quite wide though. You need to be fasten for take off, turbolence and landing. It is not a matter of PC, it is about safety. I worked on Boeing, bombardier and Airbus.

My sister-in-law died of lung cancer at a young age, she was the SPARK of the family. Anyway, when our family celebrated our first Thanksgiving w/o her, tears and memories were shed about her and then we changed the subject. 5 minutes later, the chandelier fell halfway from the ceiling. We all looked at each and were seriously spooked because we knew w/o a doubt that it was our dear Sue telling us not to forget her!😭😯I truly think if the person who passed away did not want to go (my sister in law fought her cancer with everything she had) their spirit/soul is still here for a few a months or so. We all felt her spirit for a couple of months and then it was gone.

I can somewhat relate because my brother died very young in a car accident. Well a little while after that happened a little tiny fire engine toy like a hot wheels that was in my sons room made this siren noise but when I went into the room the little fire truck did not have that capability of a siren so I don’t know why that happened. Also a little while later I would stand at the sink to do dishes and I would always feel a pat on my shoulder I would quickly turn around there’s nobody there, this happened a few times but Over the years I begun to believe it was my brother. One other thing the night my grandmother died we had a power failure at our house but all the houses across the street had thier lights on so I always thought that was kind of strange too. ♥️♥️♥️

I commented on the last video that there is a science based explanation for what you have experienced. You may be experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations. This is when you are in the part of sleep that is half way between sleeping and waking, and you can feel like you can hear something (knocking or banging is actually quite common) or feel something like a touch or blankets moving. This can occur in the consciousness state between waking and sleeping. I have had it happen to me, and have experienced both the things you have described.

I had one of the best ghost encounters in a hotel in Vancouver. It was a man but only head and shoulders. Now i have seen what i think were ghost before but they were quick glimpses and then gone. This man looked from the early 1900s but he stayed there looking at me for a little time i even closed me eyes open them again and he was still there. This was early evening i was getting ready to eat, i just wished i was brave enough to talk to him. When i got back to the UK looked it up and that strip of hotels were known for ghost encounters due to an old army base.

Another suggestion to get hired by an airline, learn a language. I KNOW my language(sign language) and previous airline experience(16yrs at DL) made my application stand out from the others. This Oct I will start 25yrs with UAL and you are absolutely correct. The first few years are a challenge but once you pass that 5 yr milestone things do get better. Another suggestion at an interview, BE ON TIME. Dependable is VERY important. At my airline there is no such thing as the 3 strikes your out rule! You're absolutely right Stella, it's a great job, the pay, skd & benefits get better with time. You will also make a ton of friends all over the world🛩

Another tip from a fellow nervous flyer: I like to get to the airport extra early and watch the planes take off/land. Seeing all those flights arrive safely and seeing people of all ages, including children, get on flights without a worry, makes me feel safer. I figure if parents are willing to put their children (and infants) on a plane, it must be pretty darn safe. No parent I know would put their child in danger.

Also, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. It's entirely possible she's sending you little 'messages' -- the cookie cutter was a fun one. I lived in a place with roommates back in college that we believed was haunted and my other roommates had some scary dreams/encounters, but I'd had a one-sided "chat" with whatever spirit(s) was in the house early on and I never had any issues. Sleep deprivation can cause hallucinations too. The fact that Frannie wasn't awakened by the knocking makes me think it was definitely a dream-knock... but also, if there was actually something spirit-wise in your house, Frannie would notice. Pets definitely do sense stuff like that. Let him be your reality-check when this stuff happens!

Everyone has their own experiences so I cannot say what will work for you but I have on many occasions before bed done a prayer for protection to include a white light cloaking me from head to toe. Just imagine it going from head to toe. I have had light anomalies, electrical interference, residual events, cat visits on my bed. I asked that if anyone was going to visit me to do so in my dream state because they were scaring me. They have complied, all activity has ceased except the occasional dream when something needs to be said. (my ex and a GF I had lost touch with came to tell me they were ok, upon waking I immediately googled their obituary) We live in a strange world right now with lots of anxiety around us. Cloak yourself in light, it might help reduce yours. I hope you soon find a loving sitter for Frannie!

They wouldn't let me because I wore glasses, and they wouldn't let you wear contacts. Also I was ver underweight. I only was only 90lbs. I am retired now, but I would have loved to have that job.
@emmylou6193 жыл бұрын
Interesting height definitely matters in the UK, you can't be smaller than 5'4" for the major carriers (I hope I'm remembering that correctly and this will be different if the airline uses smaller planes) as you need to be able to reach the overhead lockers and my friend was rejected for being too tall something to do with a safety aspect. Weight it does sort of matter as if you're over a certain BMI they want to do additional medical checks but usually they're not bothered about weight as long as you can secure yourself in the jump seat harness without any additional belts ETA: at my airline we get paid from check in time to clock out, it amazes me that there's airlines out there that don't pay you for the prep work before and after a flight! Also sort of jealous of those airlines that get cleaners in, in between flights 😅

This sounds a lot like night terrors. I used to have them and it’s like a real experience and you think you’re awake, but you’re not completely. I’ would often awaken to what felt like things hovering over me in bed. It’s very unsettling. It usually occurs when you are going through some transition in your life, like returning to work, and you are feeling some stress.

I also had that experience couple years ago when I was dead sleeping and suddenly I heard a hard nock on the door and I woke up just like you said you did and let me tell you , I thought so many things but I believe it was a call from my grandmother who passed away couple years ago . I had been dreaming with her and I believe that's what it was . My advise to you is to pray a lot when something like that happens to you and like the encounter you had at the hotel . That same encounter happened to me when I was a little girl . Let's say it happened to me tonight and the next day my grandfather die and I was the only one who had the opportunity to see him and give his last breath . I totally agree with you when it comes to that question . Italy , is a country that I would go over and over and over . I've been there so many times and there is always something new to see and explore . I love Pizza too the yellatto and the cheese , wine you name it and I love it . Some airlines DO have restrictions such as height etc though! Especially in Europe (can't speak for the US). You need to be able to reach the overhead lockers, so you need to be tall enough to reach (and they often take your height at interview). You need to be able to swim too obviously, but you don't need to be a very strong swimmer. I'm ex B.A btw. Grooming standards are VERY high in Europe, and at interview days (and work) they're looking for immaculate hair/makeup. Hair must be up for work every day, and you must wear makeup.

So a couple things... First off, ghosts will follow you home or wherever you go if you make them mad or upset them. At work with my last employer, we had a couple guys upset a couple ghosts. They went into a vacant/haunted building with their firearms drawn to clear it because they heard noises inside. A little while later, they came back out and got back in the cruiser and when they sat down, the passenger jumped and screamed and said something had just touched/squeezed his buttock. They jumped out and nobody was in the car. Fast forward a few hours... They went off duty and went home. The driver (the supervisor of that shift) went to sleep. After being asleep for a couple hours, he heard a god awful BANG in the kitchen. He got put of bed and walked into the kitchen, again with his firearm (were trained for situations like this) and found all of his pots and pans on the kitchen floor. They had somehow come out of the cabinet (all of them, no just the top ones so they couldn’t have fallen). He was the only one so he checked his door fir signs of forced entry and found none and the door was still secured. Try not to upset ghosts. Now, question... I have a good bit of customer service experience from retail to auto mechanics and everything in between... Right now I’m a protection agent. We are trained in deescalation, detainment, keeping the peace, etc. Is that a field that would stand out to someone applying for FA? In the unlikely event that someone needs detained or a situation arises and needs deescalation, you would think that airlines would like to have someone specifically trained in that kinda work. Also, when traveling, would flight attendants accept help from a passenger trained in those type situations if you can prove what you do (showing state ID for that field, showing a badge and explaining what you do, etc). I have a few more ghost stories if you want to hear them. But the rest aren’t negative I don’t think, mostly positive encounters. Thanks for the videos, they get me through long shifts!

Another environment where rank has its privileges. All the fanciest, most prestigious trips will be taken by the people with the most seniority. It is the same way in most companies. If you start working in a retail store, you have to work all the shifts such as Sunday afternoon or Friday evening or Monday morning that no one else wants.

Some major cities have "Doggy Hotels" (Some of them even have monitors you can tap in and see your "baby" 24/7) where you can board our furbabies, which would take the stress away...!!!! Also, I had taken the flight attendant exam, then they told me that I was too short.. !!!! 😔

Funny story, my brother passed away in 2015 (not the funny part, yet). 2 yrs later we adopted our dog, Jace, well first day in the house he is standing on the back of the couch and barking. You ask barking at what...barking at the display we have on on wall honoring my brother with a cross of his ashes. My daughter then proceeds go inform us on occasions when sitting on the couch if she was on snap chat doing filters angel wings and a halo would pop up over the stuffed bear that has the cross on it. So, I know how you feel.

Age, Height and Weight matters to certain airlines. I tried out for Emirates and they make you do a height test to see if you can reach the overhead bins with ease. Lol.

I'm really curious about something. I was watching a Flight Attendants channel the other day and her grammar was so poor it was actually appalling. In training, do they address proper grammar and the English language? Just want to know.

My airline made us read announcements before they even hired us at the hiring event! Maybe she just speaks that way on her Chanel because she’s comfy but in front of passengers she speaks more professional..just a guess

@@footballqueen73 thank you for responding. I have the utmost respect and admiration for FA's. I didn't mean to be a downer but it was surprising. I get being relaxed on your own channel, but some words like did and done in wrong tense. Example: what we had did and we done. Just to name a few. (cringe) I'm assuming she is a college graduate, because don't you have to be these days to be a FA? And the training from what I hear is intense. I watch many FA vlogs and just have not seen this before. I don't know what airline she is with. I know it's someone I have not seen before. I wasn't trying to be smart or anything, I just wanted to know in training did they go over grammar. 😀

We are American Airline customers only. On our flight from DFW to Maui , the flight attendants acted so put out and sat down most of the time and read. They were not cheerful. Which I do not understand because they chose this job of helping customers! Wish you could be on one of my flights!!😊

Hi Stella, sorry for the loss of your grandmother. She's definitely in a better place! Regarding these strange moments, look for a Spiritist Center. I don't know if this exists in the US, but in Brazil it is very common. There they can help you understand what these signs are. I love your videos and I'm always looking forward to seeing you. Kisses from Brazil!

So glad to see you!!...miss seeing you as often as you used to post!!...they say to keep a tablet of paper on your nightstand so if something wakes you you will be able to document it. Maybe mark the dates and times on a calender and there could be a pattern to them. Could the knocking have been someone knocking on a door nearby and since it was early and quiet the noise carried?...hope all is well with you, Bart and Frannie!!...❤

don’t you have to be a certain height to reach overhead bin? I always thought that for flight attendants

I’ve had so many “ghost” dreams like that over the years....I really hate having them especially when I’m away on trips! Funny story though, before I became a FA I used to have reoccurring nightmares of planes exploding or falling out of the sky or something super tragic, ironically it never stopped me from becoming a FA, but ever since I became one the nightmares stopped! I don’t know what that was about 😩 BTW your hair looks really good and the house looks like it’s coming together 👍🏽
