I just want to say, I have a lot of respect for Hayden for being open about his side. Male infertility is still not really talked about much because of hangups about "masculinity" and on top of that, his probably comes from the fact that he had cancer as a literal baby. That's not an easy thing to talk about

just wanna echo what most folks are commenting: i’ve really enjoyed following y’all’s IVF journey thus far and appreciate both you and hayden’s vulnerability. i’ve never had any desire or plans to have kids, but it’s super interesting to get a peek into alternative methods of conception!

This was so incredibly well-explained!! I don’t ever see myself having children BUT that never stopped me from following people’s pregnancy journeys here on KZbin. I followed a few people who had to go through IVF and you’re correct, they were mostly female-factor! (Phil and Alex are a Christian couple who have both male and female factor though!) Can’t say this enough, you both absolutely rocked it! Happy and proud of you, and sending you love!!!!

Definitely appreciate how open Hayden has been for this. I feel like so many women (understandably) talk about their side but there's so little info/support or even real life info for the men in his situation. It feels so much less isolating knowing there's other men out there in the same situation and being able to hear even bits of their side

I really appreciate all of your IVF content lately and I’m so impressed how open you guys are able to be about it. I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with our last embryo. We already have a 4 year old from our first transfer but had a few failures in between. When I’ve gone through the different cycles I have so much anxiety that I can’t even discuss it with my family. Another big difficulty for us was that we don’t have an IVF clinic in our area so we have to travel 6 hours away. It really is all consuming and puts a hold on your life while you are in it. I am so happy for you that you are past this big egg retrieval hurdle!

In addition to the IVF information, I really feel like I learned a lot just from hearing about how you both processed and communicated throughout this experience that made me reflect on my own relationship and how I can be a better partner, so thank you for that

I hope you read this comment. My daughter is an IVF baby and she is 27 years old. I was surprised that the cost hadn't changed. I was surprised that you didn't mention this comment from your doctor. One of the thing that he asked if there was infertility issues in your family. I didn't my mother and sisters got pregnant very fast. That will be a very positive thing for you. And rest after the implantation. I took it very easy for 2 weeks. And after you first trimester it will be a regular pregnancy. And I was 40 when I did IVF and only 3 eggs were retrieved. And bravo in your support group.

I'm not affected by infertility but it's very interesting to hear about, and maybe it will help others too, but don't feel pressured to tell your audience everything, only share what you want to :) Best of luck to you both ♥

This is not something I am going through, but I have enjoyed your transparency and it has given me a better understanding of the IVF process. It is awesome that you are talking about this because maybe it will help someone going through the same situation.

When Haden was talking about the gradual change & how pregnancy would possibly be easier, I was remembering throwing up & being near immobilized with HG which started happening before I even missed my first period. Oof. Some pregnancies start off like cannon fire, but hopefully he’s right. Biology is wild. Thank you for sharing & best of luck to y’all. Looking forward to following the entire journey.

I grew up sick since I was born and was always in the hospital and having painful medical procedures and i would tell myself “if this person can do it, you can do it” whoever I looked up to or loved who also had illness. When I was a preteen I said it about Nick Jonas bc I was in love with him 😂I’d be getting blood draws and shots and be like well he has diabetes so If he can do it, you can do it. All I wanted growing up was kids but I can’t have them bc of my disability but just knowing I can’t has helped me over many years to come to terms with it and convince myself that I don’t want them lol but I want to be the best aunt ever and love watching all things baby content and live through others because it’s so beautiful 🥰

Love the video. We had 6 out of 9 embryos come back euploid. We opted not to find out the sex but we wanted to know if we at least had 1 of each. Turns out we had 5 of one sex and 1 of the other. We decided to transfer one of the 5 with the thinking that if it failed (we'd had 2 other transfers fail) we would at least have another chance to have a child of that sex. We chose not to find out the sex before transfer because since we had previous failures I felt if I knew the sex and started dreaming about a little girl or little boy it would make another failure harder as they would be more realized in my mind. Well it luckily worked and we had our daughter (didn't find out until birth actually) and now we know we have 4 girls and 1 boy left on ice. We will try the boy embryo next and see that as a small silver lining to having to go through this whole process.

Thank you for sharing your story! I'm sorry if this a really insensitive question but I've always been curious, what happens with the embryos that you don't transfer? Do they stay in the "freezer" indefinitely? And what happens to the embryos that don't do well on the genetic testing?
@chandlerainsley
@chandlerainsley 11 ай бұрын
you can do a ton of different things! you can donate them to science, you can destroy them, you can adopt them out to another couple :) the genetically abnormal embryos i believe are destroyed but i’m not entirely sure
