Thank you so so much for what you do. You are honestly my favorite KZbinr, and you help me so much with my rat care. I have watched every video of yours on animal and rat advice so I will be fully ready for my 2 new rat girls coming in 2 weeks. Congrats on the succesful pet sitting business, you are my biggest inspiration! (P.S.-you're rats and mice are so adorable 💛🐁)

Heyyy. I want to become a pet sitter after I settled after graduation from high school. I just want to ask: I’m going to sign up for Rover, and I’m going to be pretty nervous. Say, that I get my first client: what do I do from there? A meet and greet? What do I do or say when I get there??? And how do I start my own business as a pet sitter? Keep in mind, I’m Going to be 18 when I graduate. I also heard that I’m going to need insurance just Incase. I don’t know much about that. What is insurance, and how do I get it?? Thanks! :D

Hi! I’m getting my very first rats ever and i want to know if the cage has to be really big like i won’t have a super small one but how big is the best size? I’m getting two baby rats but when they grow up i may want to get 2 more and i’m not sure how big cage i should have..i hope you will answer this 💞 i love your videos!🥰

Speaking from experience I started with a furat plus cage for two rats and I’ve ended up with a critter nation size cage now and I do recommend buying the largest cage you can from the start because you’ll ultimately end up wanting or needing too eventually!
@ShayShayPlay5 жыл бұрын
I recommend a ferret cage! You definitely want at the very least 2 levels.

Yes it can be hard work if you overbook yourself or the pet is really active or plays rough or pulls on leash a lot.//Yes we get a lot of REACTIVE/aggressive dogs that just haven’t properly socialized especially because of covid and everyone who got a puppy during covid and didn’t socialize them well.// you can pretty much be any age, it just depends on if you’re just sitting a neighbors pet or professionally sitting.// it’s ideal but not required.// playing with pets, and the issues in pets because of bad owners.//goats and feeder rabbits//ask about behaviors, food, medical, routine.//yes. If you don’t feel safe don’t accept the sitting.// Reptiles (besides turtles and tortoises)// alot// yes absolutely// not really it just depends on the specific pet// called 911 because someone tried to break in while I was house sitting overnight in the middle of nowhere.// puppy’s // I don’t take high risk sittings and go through an app that provides insurance// I just leave the food and hang out until they come to me// client took an extra 3 days on their trip and didn’t pay extra// I don’t do boarding// it has never happened to me, but I would call or text the owner and if serious, take to the vet.// feeder rabbit gave birth and immediately killed her babies on purpose and the owners apologized to me cause I was crying cleaning up day old baby bunny corpses// I’m bad at wanting to upgrade their food or litter for them but I just have to mind my own business unless it’s REALLY bad.// usually everything is there, usually just poo bags are all I need to bring.

How many texts are reasonable in a day to reassure a client? Do you make notes on each visit?
@Emiology Жыл бұрын
ask the owner how many updates they would like to receive, some people want a photo and a quick update every visit if they're a worrier, some people aren't bothered at all until they're back
@liveyouryoga Жыл бұрын
@@Emiology Thanks, I am asking about myself. My cat is like a therapy cat. I am very attached to her and she is to me. She is also a senior cat . The lady coming is a stranger so she will stay under the bed the entire rime, which would make it difficult for the lady to give her Churu treats since they expire almost immediately. I worry about hydration. She is an excellent drinker but this does not make up for the hydration in her food. On the other hand, food being left out too long will make her sick. She is only doing 30 minute visits each time. We are only going away for 4 days. As long as she is alive, I won’t ever take a vacation.

Have you ever had a situation where the client didn't pay you for your services and if so, how did you handle that?
@Emiology3 жыл бұрын
I did. I threatened to take them to small claims court but ultimately that would’ve cost more than what they owed me so I let it go and black listed them
@jodieberdiales3 жыл бұрын
@@Emiology What does black listing mean? I'm on my first pet sitting job and the home is terrible unfortunately, very filthy, on the verge of being classified as a hoarder situation and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't pay. I have 5 more clients coming up that are 1,000% better. I have 8 days left (drop in visits). We'll see. I feel very sorry for the 2 dogs they have to live in that environment.
@Emiology3 жыл бұрын
That’s sad 😞 I basically refused to ever walk her dog again and I messaged all the local dog walkers so that they wouldn’t work with her either. After that I was very firm to take payment before I did any work otherwise I wouldn’t be doing it, or at least take a deposit for big pet sits to avoid it happening ☺️

*HELP* I posted this already on a different pet channel but I need advice asap so the more who know the merrier. Allow me to copy and paste please. hey y'all - so i know our girl here has been busy for a while so really my question is for anyone who reads this- but anything would help and soon please. This isn't really rat related but it IS rodent related but here's some context first. So my brother got a hamster for his birthday, its not a big deal, she's adorable and she'd be an angel to have around the house. However, our Nana (the one who got it for him.) knew that I had an ol' cage sitting around and so she actually had the NERVE to just outright buy the hamster WITHOUT a proper cage!!!! ( you can scream too, its okay, I am absolutely pissed. ) But my cage was a SMALL mouse cage that was used for a mouse i had caught in the bathroom ((she ended up escaping later on but she's still sociable ?? She's a weird one lol. that's a whole different story.)) and I know already that this cage is way too small for this hamster. My Nana didn't think to ASK what TYPE of hamster it was- but from my very thorough and process of elimination google search I THINK she's a Syrian hamster. Which in that case means she's most DEFINITELY GOING TO NEED A BIGGER CAGE. And even if she's not I know she's still feeling cramped up in there as she's showing signs of anxiety and cage rage. (((also doesn't help that literally no one in my house listens to me when I tell them that she needs a few days to adjust. oh noooo- let's all play with this new hamster like its a toy because. clearly. it must be one. i mean.. awww so cuteeeee.... *eYE rOLL* ))) My question here was- do any of you know of any GOOD sized cages within a decent budget?? I've been searching for hours now and so far all I've found was absolute trash. I'm really worried for her and she is already so sweet but I'd really hate for her to suddenly become aggressive because I didn't do my part to try and help her out at least this much. Personally I'm thinking of getting her a rabbit cage just because by default they are bigger, and it wouldn't be hard to lay a wooden board at the bottom and then place bedding on top. Sure it'll have to be changed eventually but that's no big problem. I have one already actually just sitting in my room but its kinda banged up and it would need a serious make over to make sure she doesn't escape and I really don't want to go through that type of hassle. ((if push comes to shove however I will. I'd just really hate to as it would require more furniture moving as well because I'm using it as a sort of table right now.))

What country are you in? That will limit what cages are available. Watch Victoria raechels video on good hamster cages there’s lots of suggestions in there or you can make the hamster a bin cage, she also has a tutorial for that.
