Your opening statement on how beautiful SA is something all of us should learn. Everyone one wants to move away or travel to ‘better countries’, but they fail to understand that SA includes everything the world has to offer. We have 11 languages, and microcosms of cultures from across the world in a country the size of Texas . Our landscapes are unmatched in all its beauty and madness.

Nah, SA sucks. I've got my Australian visa and I'm thankful. I work way too hard to waste my time and money in SA.

Yeeeesss! South Africa is gorgeous! My husband is from there too. I’m from the states. We live in North Dakota now. We went back to visit Johan’s family last year! Hope to go back and visit again soon!

This is a reminder that we should be praying for our countries. What a blessing you have a community there where you can find a bit of refuge from some of the ills plaguing SA.

I love learning about South Africa from someone who knows more than the tourist version, the good and the bad. It looks so beautiful where you are.

Hi! Enjoying your channel and conversations, thank-you! Having only lived in the Western and Northern Cape provinces, my experience of what South Africa is like is very different to what you are describing here. 😂 We have lots of tourist doing self-drives and exploring on their own. I do think a sense of adventure, some grit and common sense are required, though.

Thank you both for sharing. SA seems to agree with you, Kelli, you have an inner glow. The landscape is beautiful, and living so close to nature has its rewards. God bless your union.

Does Scott work from home or does he work for a great employer who allows him to take a lot of time off to go to SA? Kinda nosey but I’ve always been curious 😅

Could y'all do a video on homosexuality? I'm an ex-gay Christian and I very rarely see Christian content-creators touch up on this subject; I think y'all would do a really great job at tackling it.

I agree with you. South Africa looks different province to province. And I accept that the legacy of apartheid is still prevalent. But comparing it to America. No man. A country with loose morals and supporting a genocide state . You can't live with your head in the sand and not be aware of the politics of either country. This will give you a more balanced view of the good and not so good. Lots of foreigners settle in South Africa because of good schools and better quality of life. America has been revealed to be a fake immoral country. I wouldn't want to raise a family in your country even though we have loadshedding !!!!

Goodness, you make South Africa sound like a jungle. I am a South African and hardly recognized what you describe.

Interesting, what is it that you don't recognize? The load shedding, the crime, the infrastructural failure, the squalor/poverty? I'm curious where you live.

It all being true with crime, poverty infrastructure, but the image looks so different from province to province. As I am sure it is in America as well. In Gauteng the dynamics looks much different to the dynamics in Western Cape or Limpopo or even Kwazulu Natal. The rural areas even look different. Even though the state is failing its people, South Africans are quite innovative. Everything has an emotional connection. We are emotional people. Because of loadshedding, we created a whole new successful sector on alternative energy resources. I agree that South Africans have a survival mindset, we are almost desensitised to crime and infrastructure failure. But again, the crime looks much different in Kwazulu Natal than it does in Gauteng. It even looks different between rural areas and the suburbs.

As a South African based in KZN, the description and video footage is 100% accurate. Just wanted to mention that in case others reading the above comment think that this video is being deceptive. The video footage is very accurate of the Drakensburg which I’m sure is what was filmed. Also just want to mention that in line with your comment above, they mentioned in the video (around 8 mins in) that South African’s are innovative and people have adapted well to their circumstances. 😊 Overall, we live in a beautiful country and God has blessed us in unique ways compared to other parts of the world! 🇿🇦 ❤
