I love being a stay at home mom and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I know how blessed I am, and yes I have freedom in it! I have worked and had children in the past because my first marriage fell apart and I was raising my kids on my own, so I know both worlds. To me, nothing compares to building my home, taking care of my children and being a blessing to my husband ❤️

Agree! Such important points. Homeschooling my own children has been the greatest gift and probably the greatest challenge I've endeavored in. I do feel the weight of the responsibility to educate and disciple my children full time. I have the greatest influence of anyone in the world in my children's lives, what I do with that influence literally changes lives. I can't think of a higher calling in a woman's life, especially when trying to do it in a godly manner.

Hi guys, not sure if you’ll see my comment but I want to say thank you so much for speaking on these topics. I have been watching so many of your videos lately. I grew up in a liberal large metro area and also went to a liberal public university (like most colleges lol) and i have had to unlearn so much lately. Your videos are so helpful in this journey for me. I am 32, I was married at 27 and became a born again Christian right after marriage and now we have three children. I became my husband’s help meet when we got married (left my full time job for at a company and started working for his business we took over from my father) Like honestly I want to cry at how much grace God has given me at unlearning the ways of the world and learning His ways. I am so excited to teach my kids the right ways.

😂that was harsh, should we leave that in, no take it out! 😂 That was such a learning moment and perfect example of a wife helping her husband! Men do talk in black and white which can sound harsh even when not meaning to be and women speak in the colors of the rainbow who can give meaning to a subject in a much more soothing manner. Kelli just complimented Scott in a very graceful way. But the key to any of this ever working is allowing the Holy Spirit to teach us what is fitting for God. If we don’t know/learn how to let him guide and teach us we can never come into the fullness God wants for our life.

I been married 13 years two kids and we are regular ppl and yes money is a factor but our source of happiness and what makes us laugh is family and not fleeting emotions.

Everyone’s stories are so different, I waited on the Lord for a husband and continued in ministry as a single woman until I met him at 34. I’m 37 now, still no kids but was able to serve a lot of kids and raise up generations of spiritual children. I may be past my childbearing years soon but I still look darn good and everyone thinks I look in my 20s, including my husband! Gods plan for everyone looks different but I’m still encouraged by your testimony and am being nudged by the Holy Spirit to leave my full time job in a Christian school to make my new marriage more of the focus. I love those kids like crazy and love being there, but I still know deep down I want to be a homemaker and helpmeet more!

Last year I had an conversation with the dental assistent. She said that if she would be staying at home with her kids, it would drive her crazy. And that she was happy with her parttime job.(Our country has the most parttime working moms of the world; it’s normal for mothers here to work just for 2 or 3 days a week) I said that every woman can make her own choice what to do in life. And that it would drive me crazy to sit in this building of concrete for 3 days a week. After the appointment (it was a very nice summerday that day) so I told her to have a nice day, and that I was going to the park with my kids, to enjoy the weather. 😊

That was harsh and I'm glad you left it in. That was a perfect example of being a helpmeet to your husband because we got to be blessed by the whole conversation. People don't know how to talk any more and are easily offended, but because of the mutual respect you did nothing but build each other, well done. I worked a full time job from the age of 15. At 30 got remarried, saved and a few years later got fired by my husband who I was working for because he didn't want me around harsh chemicals, out income plummeted. By this time I had been working full time for almost 20 years! I didn't even know what to do with myself, but God did. Now at 60 the only regret I have in my life I have is the time wasted before my wonderful husband fired me. Choose wisely dear daughters, blessings.

I am a 27 year career woman who has been to the top of organizations and back down again. In my heart of hearts, I know with certainty you are exactly right about the messages you present. Career women are often miserable. Their energies and efforts are divided. And they often end up with a lot of regret. I think you are an extremely talented woman whom I have come to admire. If I could end my life knowing half of what you do about managing a home economy, gardening, baking, cooking, etc. I would be thrilled to pieces. I appreciate your biblical worldview so very much!

I've been a stay at home mom for 10 years. I would never want to go back to working for someone else. I think this country went downhill after the mom/wife left the home to work all day.

I agree! My oldest son once commented that “women are the glue that holds a society together.” He appreciated that I was home when they were small.

I think I'm more curious as to why people think a woman can either ONLY be a housewife/house mom, or only be in a cubicle. The problem with most people is that they work jobs that are not "careers" and aren't fulfilling, so it results in people feeling disengaged from a soul-sucking job. There are some stay-at-home moms OR SINGLE women that can create their own home-based businesses, create their own freelance careers, or have enough skill and talent to profit from a hobby or a possible passion. I think the problem for most people is the lack of work-life balance or a flexible income source. MOST people do not have a good work-life balance or a flexible/freelance career, so that's why a lot of would-be-cubicle housewives or stay-at-home moms would be miserable working for someone else, instead of working for themselves. I agree that if people want a family, they should get married and have kids at a much younger age, so that in 18 to 20 years, they can THEN go to college, get their degree, and focus on that strenuous career. But we don't live in a society that encourages that. I do think that it's good to have nuclear families, but I hate the world that we live in when ***some*** people are attacking others for wanting a family or not wanting a family.

When I was working in the medical field as a young mom I was so exhausted after a 12 hour shift trying to find an ounce of energy to pour into my son. I was a tired mom and not a very involved mom. It was a very sad time. I’m so thankful that my life no longer looks like that and I am able to be a homemaker. My husband and I have continued to grow our family and have found the joy in simple living. Gardening. Homeschooling. Homemade gifts. Minimal spending. We have less money but we have so much joy.

If being alive is good, then it must be good to make more people alive. If it is not a good thing to give other people the opportunity to experience life, then it must mean that being alive is not all that important, and that means that your own personal happiness isn't important either. This line of thought immediately brings you to the conclusion that motherhood is in the top rank of professions. These people think that this choice exists: Either women are valuable for their own sake, or they are supposed to make babies. But this is a false dichotomy. The real choice is both or neither. Either people are important for their own sake, and therefore you ought to make children, or people do not matter, and therefore making children doesn't matter either.

It’s not all Christians. They’re more in the minority. Some people are called to be full-time homemakers and some are called to work and serve others through business. We do not all have the same callings. You can also do both by having strict boundaries with work and looking for a job that can accommodate.

Hi Kailey! I bought Rosemary Gladstars course on the Art and Science of Herbology. It was a bit expensive (I also got it on sale), I knew absolutely nothing about herbs so this was a good place for me to start. Although now, knowing what I know, there are many free options! Or even books that are a great place to get started. Dawn Combs is a wealth of knowledge, she has several books which I love and are great starting points. "Heal Local" is my favorite. And this is her website sodafarm.com/. I've met her and she is just a wealth of knowledge! The Herbal Academy has a blog with lots of tips and advice and pretty graphics.

Not to mention people don’t normally think how men frequently waste their “talent” to provide for their families. for example, If a man is a really good musician, but can’t make enough money doing music he often times will leave his passion and pick up a more traditional job so that he can adequately provide. For some reason, I normally only hear complaining from one side of the aisle. Lol.

Why can’t a “competent” man run the household should the family so choose? What if that works for them? Are they to be exiled from the Christian faith? Why can’t the woman have a mission? Perhaps the husband wants to help her on her mission or her legacy. It’s just interesting to me because I see other Christian KZbinrs who preach equality amongst the genders in marriage, the woman works and still manages to be a mother, the father equally helps to raise the kids as a father should etc. So how can those Christians be squared with what you all propose? They claim to be living biblically just as you do. Just trying to make it make sense.

Another great video! The stay at home mom would make over $184,000.00 a year (in 2018) if she was paid for everything she does for her household. Cleaning, cooking, mending, gardening. nursing your sick, shopping, meal prep, errands, bill paying, managing schedules of the members of the household etc just to name a few. And she doens't have to go to college or into debt to accomplish this and when they are all grown, her reward is priceless. It is a honor to be a homemaker & a privilage to raise the next generation for the Lord! And then being a grandparent is the next step blessing!
