I personally appreciate you. You are great and don't change a thing. I'm married to an American and when I started a KZbin channel I got followers but all they wanted was to know about my husband. I realised they did not appreciate me as a person but saw me as a Muzungu's wife. I deleted all the videos that had my husband in them and most of them unsubscribed. I don't wear any makeup and I plait matuta. I've been with my husband 7 years and he loves me that way. His family and friends all appreciate my naturalness. I'm a black south african and we put our babies on our backs and there is nothing wrong with that. We clean, do laundry and still keep our jobs. That's not slavery. That is our lifestyle. Ann,l can relate...l do all the housework in my home,l have a garden and rare chicken for sell. I rarely make my hair and on nails l only do my toes...rarely!...and l do it myself! I am married in one of the leafy suburbs in Nairobi so ppl find it odd but am just me and l love my life. Keep bn you Ann. I grew up in Northeast Brazil where there is much African influence in the culture. Perhaps that is why I was drawn to your channel. The lifestyle of your African village reminded me a lot of life in Brazil many years ago. I left Brazil when I was 18 to go to the USA. My parents were missionaries and decided I must come here for university. It has now been over 30 years since I have left Brazil, but I still have all my memories of living there. I loved it and miss it so much. I thought I would go back to Brazil after my studies, but I married an American and stayed in the USA. It was very hard at first living here. I am white so people expected me to act like an American but since I spent all my growing up years in Brazil I had a lot of the Brazilian culture in me. Now I understand that I am what is called a Third Culture Kid, a combination of cultures. I am used to not fitting in and am very proud of my diverse cultural background. I cook Brazilian dishes for my family. They like most of them. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

The baby is always feeling secure and close to its mum and will get no hip damage because of the position of legs. A lot of German mothers begin to do it the same way nowadays.

Let him be camera shy, loving and relaxing after his hard work. Many poor people here in Germany are even homeless and unable to pay for good food, a garden, nice housing, children and family's airflights to other counties. You are doing very great and adorable beeing a good example for foreigners in my country. I never had any doubt that you are in a happy high functioning marriage. As I said, my husband does not appreciate my gardening and I am a graduated biologist/agriculturalist. Also he does not like me to make comments on social media. Thank you Ann. About carrying the baby on your back, it has been found to be very healthy for a child's emotional well being. That's the way we carry babies in Africa. I used to carry my daughter as well though I used to carry her in the front so she could feel my heart beat. My husband also used to carry her and we used to alternate so she could bond with both of us. She used to have a pram which she rarely used so I ended up giving it away.🤣🤣 (PS: Even in hospital, parents are encouraged to carry their premature babies. It's called Kangaroo care and it has been scientifically proven to be very healthy).

Good job Ann. I live in the US with my family and I relate so much with you. I like to do my work by myself, my hubby helps but I prefer to do my chores, especially house chores. That's how I was raised. I have a small garden too where I grow our veges. I sometimes carry my baby on my back too to the store. The culture is different but we should not forget our culture even if we live somewhere different from home. Thank you.

I totally love your simplicity. German villages are really nice and people don't complicate their lives either. It is sad that people expect too much and think that once someone relocates abroad, they should change their lifestyle. I enjoy doing my 'matuta' and get a lot of compliments from my friends. Simplicity is the way to go!

The same people saying that also grew up in villages. Carrying a baby on your back is even better because you bond with your baby. Garden work is done even by the old people in German villages, men or women so it’s not odd!! We need food to eat, fresh from the farm.
