Super informational video!!! Noticed that you calculated force in X-direction at the end and said that's the drag force, but it should be the force in Z-direction(according to your geometry) i believe

Have you calculated the case that considered the attitude of the boat? I got some problem with dynamic mesh 😢

Amazing tutorial, would you make one with supersonic flow over a body? thank you

Hello, thanks for the video. But how can we input difent velocities to the two phases, one velocity for the air and another for the watter? Thank you

Hello, Thank you for uploading an insightfull video.Would it be possible to show pressure distrubutoin along symmetry and HULL. what is the lift force? Will you please upload a video on it with the above analysis? Thank you in advanvce.

Hello, Thank you for an insightfull video. Wii it be possible to upload pressure variation along Symmetry wall and HULL? if you can show us that would be a great help. Thank you again.

Hallo and thanks for the Video:) Does the Number of -4604 N (39:26) refers to one half of the symmetry or both halfs?

Where did you import the model or did you do that?

This might be a stupid question. Does ansys fluent show how ship trim (bow lifted) condition at different speed on the result (post processing). Or is it remain static. I ask this because i want to know ship trim condition at different speed so I'll run multiple simulation with different speed

Thats a good question

It can be possible, but need a lots of mesh deformation simulation.
@zo56792 ай бұрын
@@AnsysTutor yeah it's possible I've done it and test it by myself. But the problem is when applying wall function especially y+=1, the orthogonal mesh getting worse especially on angled surface like keel, bilge, and near bow of the vessel. Thank you for replying thou, I've finished my undergraduate thesis even I'm not using ansys atleast your tutorial helped me understand CFD in general 🙏

is it possible to do it with structured mesh? cause most tutorial show it with unstructured mesh
@souravkanthal27965 ай бұрын
Bro we can do. But then your convergence time will very high and any ship type of complicated geometry mesh if we want to capture well we use tria. But yea you can use structure mesh also
@zo56795 ай бұрын
@@souravkanthal2796 problem is when doing simulation of ship resistance in ansys we need to adjust inflation to y+=1 requirements and it messed up the orthogonal quality and lead to floating point exceptions error.
