i have some problem with time hardening a problem of convergence

Thank you for explaining various models! There is one part that I cannot agree. It is an argument that "any simulated part will change its properties with time even if there is no applied stress" in the creep model 2 (time hardening). The product (stress^C2)*(time^C3) is zero when stress=0, unless C2=0. So, there is no problem of an artificial growth of the strain rate with time without load. I have done processing of creep test data, and it turns out that the models (1) and (2) are eventually mathematically equivalent both leading to a power law dependence for creep strain vs time.

Note that I wrote the creep equation for models 6 ("Modified Time Hardening") and 11 ("Combined Time Hardening") incorrectly. The left hand side of these equations should be creep strain, not creep strain rate.

Great video really useful, I am doing my final year dissertation on creep modelling and was planning to use either Norton or generalized garofalo, are you thinking of doing any videos about using either model within ANSYS? Would be a great help

Dear Jorgen, thanks a lot for this video, and in general for all your great contribution in the "science". By the way, just a question, as I was checking the channel, it seems there is no video related to LS-DYNA. Would it be possible for you to give us some more information about this software (of course, I mean how the PolyUMod works in conjunction with LS-DYNA)?

Great idea! I will add that to our list of upcoming content.

For model 2 at zero stress, creep strain rate is zero and no matter how long the material stays at zero stress, there'll be no change in creep strain. If this is correct, then what do you mean by "the material will change response if held at zero initial stress"?

I believe I said that about creep model 3, not creep model 2. At least that what I intended to say.

@@PolymerFEM Not really, at 3:40 you do talk about a change in material behaviour when exposed to zero stress in the context of model 2.
