What really makes the MCU stand out is that they treat "superhero" as a setting, not a genre. This isn't a "superhero movie", it's a heist movie set in a world with superheroes. Just like Captain America was a war movie in a world with superheroes. There are more examples, but a lot of them are spoilers for movies you haven't reached yet.

Honestly some of the best superhero movies have a specific genere to it, like Dark Knight is a crime thriller, Logan is a western, The Batman is a detective noir story, just to name a few.

Ant-Man is a highly underrated film because of the comedy. It's my #2 fave MCU movie after Winter Soldier.

One thing i adore about this movie is how healthy the divorced couple is here. They are still friends and they both love Cassie, it's reasonable that Maggie sets the boundary of child support and i love that she told Cassie that her dad isn't bad. And at the end they are sitting at the table as friends. I truly love that marvel showed that

Such an underrated movie, theres so many great things about how they went about this movie but lowkey one of my favourite parts is it highlights how most people are conditioned to automatically assume that cause the main character is the hero their ex lover and new partner are the “bad guy” but Paxton done a great job showing that perspective counts for a lot cause when you watch it back he’s clearly never a bad guy or the mum they both just want to protect Cassie and wanted Scott to step up. Really like how had so much focus on showing different family dynamics

Loved your reaction to this! It's probably the most underrated MCU movie of them all, and casting Paul Rudd in the lead role was a genius move.

Paul Rudd's little girl dressed as the Wasp for trick or treating on Halloween, and in classic hilarious Paul Rudd style he dressed as Weird Al Yankovic instead of Ant-Man. Everything associated with this movie is comedic gold.

1.1K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome, and thanks! ☺️ Notes: Judging by how audiences reacted to the scene, the moment when he attacks another guy by hitting that guy's face, using the pole dancer techniques that women began using in "Xena, Warrior Princess", well, it was a first! "Man Uses Crotch To Hit Another Man!" 😂😅

22:22 Luis packs a punch. But that is consistent with the character. He did say he was the only one to ever knock down Peachy during the going away prison tradition.

That Civil War reaction can’t come soon enough that movie really kicks off phase 3 in such a fun and interesting way I can’t wait to see what you think of it, as for Antman this movie was definitely in my top 5 for a long time until a lot of phase 3 dropped it down the list a bit it’s just so fun and different from everything else we got so far at the time.

I remember not fully understanding this movie when I first watched it but it has definitely grown on me a lot and has become one of favorites of the MCU. Also because I didn't know much about Ant-Man before watching this movie, I thought he was a DC character turned Marvel. But I was thinking about The Atom, whose a DC character and is kind of similar to Ant-Man. Thanks for another fun and hilarious reaction Meg and Caleb!! I can't for your guys reaction to Civil War. I'm especially gonna be interested in your discussion after the movie and see where you both stand

Some of the other commenters are calling this a heist film, and they're not wrong, but to me the Ant Man films really have `family' as their central theme.
@kilnareth79702 жыл бұрын
Most definitely, but I feel like the main genre these Ant Man films have are like heist/spy films. Ant Man felt like a Mission Impossible movie and it reflects on Ant Man's theme, while Ant Man and the Wasp is more heist-like.

I love the family dynamic in these films. I totally expected the trope of the bitter ex-wife and the jerk Step-dad. I am so happy they subverted my expectations and made something so heartfelt. (I really want to use the word wholesome but I will resist, LOL)

Oh yeah... Well "SIR WILLIAM FERRELL" went to MY acting school and he can act the SH!T out of Paul Rudd! Ahem... "Milk... was BAD choice!" Sexiest man... Let's see him take care of his SH!T when "SIR" William BEATS him down with his "Mark Twain" award! Note: The proceeding lines should be screamed, with great ferocity, in the distinct and classic "School of Ferrell" "man-baby" style.
