Ghost actually looks like she is "glitching" around just like Vanellope from Wreck it Ralph, which gives me the impression she isn't really in full control of her powers, at least in most of the scenes in the trailer, Vanellope herself eventually gains the ability to control her glitching and use it to teleport around but at first it was totally out of her control.

as someone who usually gets angry about mary sues and all that, i really don't see a problem with the wasp being more competent then antman. she was in the shrinking "world" all her life. she had years and years to practice. she was the better choise to be antman - that is established. she was denied because her father cares even though she would have been better.

right, the only thing that's weird about this is the Wasp is not the main character, but that's because of tradition and precedent (which is exactly why "but X character was always Y" is such a problematic principle: it hinders possibilities).

The Wasp is in the title (and not in a small font like a subtitle) so I believe they might get equal attention or at least close to it so she could be said to be the main character. It can be tricky to pull of two main characters but I hope they pull it off.

Thank you for pointing it out! I have yet to scroll through enough comments to find people who are making the Mary Sue comments, but I'm sure they exist. I guess they didn't watch the first movie or they completely forgot that she proves again and again that she's better cut out to wear the Ant Man suit. She was the one to train Scott and the movie points out how much more she's capable of, even manipulating the ants.

The Wasp will definitely give the movie a boost in the action sequences. Scott Lang is the more daring of the duo. He'll do something dangerous and bold if he thinks it could help the situation. I'm definitely excited for this movie. It seems like Marvel fully understands what type of tone each movie must have.

I get some peoples issues with the wasp having better weapons, more skill and better mastery with the tech but im fine with it as long as she doesnt make Ant man completely obsolete as a hero. Thats why im glad that so far they are keeping Giant man for just him cause thats at least one specific thing that may make him still relevant. Hopefully it stays that way and he shows he can still be a capable fighter with her around.

Wasp should be more powerful than Scott. She's been training her entire life for it, as well as has wings and blasters on her suit. However, that doesn't mean I think the movie should be centered around her. It should be evenly spaced for each character.

Since they were talking about quantum powers, then maybe Ghost is phasing through things so much as, quantum positioning herself past them (making several moves like going through different obstacles at once), probably also why she seems to have super strength when she kicks Ant-Man too.

My theory about Ghost is that she pretty much always shows a bit of that phasing effect, and it becomes more prominent when she is in a chaotic situation. I think her power is meant to visualize a sort of macroscopic collapsing quantum wave function. That is, those aren't images, as such, she actually is in multiple places at once. Or more accurately, she has different probabilities of being in certain positions at any given time. If she's phasing through a door, we see one probability is that she sort of dove head-first. Another possibility is that she kicked it open. But the most probable position was for her to just be on the other side of the door without even interacting with it, so that's the version that "wins" and is most visible. In a fight scene we might see her do a spinning back kick with ghostly images of her doing other moves as well: the kick is just the move that "won." Anyway, that's my guess!

In terms of phasing during her kick. I have 2 theories (3 actually). 1. She was using it for momentum, I wouldn't be surprised if while she's phasing she's a lot lighter, so she decided to phase just after the kick off to speed her self up then stop the phasing just before contact for extra weight and power. 2. She doesn't know how skilled Antman is in combat, the reason irl fighters don't really do a lot of the fancier moves (even though they're able to) is because it's super "punishable" to use a fighting game term. So she's playing the safe route and making herself untouchable during the easily punishable spin. *(punishable moves are moves that either take a while to start - meaning you can hit them with a faster attack mid animation before the move does anything, or moves that have a lot of "ending lag" meaning it takes some time for the animations to finish after the attack is used - allowing your opponent to dodge or block it and hit you back before you can do anything again.)* The 3rd option is naturally a bit of both.^
