Ahhh! The X-Men weren't created or based off of MLK or Malcolm X. I understand the sentiment and optics but anyone who followed both men, especially Malcolm X and his life and mission would find issue with this notion. Stan Lee actually said he understood the comparison but that wasn't the actual intention. The X-Men had a pretty established canon before this notion was introduced. Beyond that, painting Malcolm as some militant willing to do whatever, based off his by any means necessary speech and the actual meaning of it is not only short sighted but a high l level of disrespect. It's a disservice to the man, his actual goals, teaching and life. It's a oversimplified retelling of that portion of civil rights history and almost entirely unfounded and untrue by any fair historian of the man. Beyond that, Stan Lee stated on a multitude of occasions that the X-Men and their powers originated and derived from him running out of conventional ideas and reasons to continue to give a multitude of characters original origins and reasons for their powers. Their origin, being born with powers was largely because Stan ran of of feasible reasons why so many characters were born with a way reason and array of power.

Personally this low box office all the Disney complainers fault. Disney has been propping up the box office for years and was why the box office started breaking records. I grew up on the prequels and absolutely love them (thank you George Lucas lol I love triggering boomers). But I went and saw TPM in theaters this weekend only cause I wanted to experience it in the theater. I skipped the preview for the Acolyte at the end. I wanted to leave with an enjoyable viewing experience after all.

It’s unfortunate that A24 spent all of the movie they made for “Everything, Everywhere, All At Once” on “Civil War” and not get back their return on investment. Hopefully “MaXXXine” can make up for it!

There was one factor,you probably missed , The Fall Guy tv show that the fim is based on isn’t really that well known, but I agree, movies are getting too much commercial advertising where people are feeling like they’ve seen to much of the movie.

No no no no no. I watched and ADORED the nice guys. I loved the gray man and adored Barbie. I’m a fan of his movies and I watch them. They lost me at stuntman and frankly it looked like a Netflix movie. I have higher standards now. Do better.

BTW the prequel Star Wars trilogy is viewed more favorably these days because the Disney Star Wars films, with the exception of Rogue One, have been worse. Before Star Wars Disney, the prequel series was only compared to the original trilogy. I remember a time, pre-Crystal Skull, when Temple of Doom was considered the shitty Indiana Jones movie.

Grace, Blackthorne did NOT die in Europe. This was just a dream, and a dream he dreaded to come true. So he did everything that it would NOT come true, tried to commit seppuku, get rid of Mariko's cross, etc. Neither in the book nor in the miniseries of 1980 did Blackthorne return to Europe. And the man who Blackbourne was based on never returned to England and died 20 years later in Japan.

I would have preferred if the movie was more like the TV show I enjoyed the TV show with Lee Majors if they followed that formula I probably would have went and seen it
