Scott's casual greeting and honest explanation to Falcon was probably what actually saved their ass in the end. Because that in-turn I think is what convinced Falcon to just let it go and say "It's really important to me that Cap never finds out about this." rather than to gather the Avengers and actually persue the intruder. After all, shrinking tech and Ant-man is basically the hallmark of Hank Pym, so they definitely recognized the name. Falcon was likely sent to look for Hank Pym through Scott. Something I love about this movie is it portrayed how the Avengers are scene by people more on the outside. Scott's first suggestion was calling the Avengers when he found out about all this and upon seeing the compound is the Avengers HQ and not some old warehouse from Stark Industries, Scott freaks out while Hank and Hope tell him to get the hell out of there immediately. Even the people who depend on them fear them.

To be fair Scott was freaking out because the threat level of the heist changed, and he's only prepped for the basics of Ant-Manning/Smal Heisting and not to take on the Avengers. I'd say the Avengers are necessary not feared here(except Hulk) not until Civil War but even then, that was more of a government fear and them being outlawed. in Homecoming the heroes aren't treated as fears there with the kids bringing them up and Cap's detention videos still being played .

Make the world nicer, we need nicer, have seen the news? Nice please, be like Scott. The scene is clearly played for shits and giggles. Of course those were all silly mistakes. The scene is meant to read as something ridiculous, like the common phrase "did that really just happen?" Scott messes up so bad that Hope needs confirmation that he really just did all of those things because its unbelievable someone would be that bad at hero-ing. It's funny for the audience, obviously not for Hope and Hank (bless their patience). The whole scene is meant to be comedic for the audience, as Scott is shown to not be a typical "hero" from the start, and his reaction to meeting another "hero" continues to confirm that he is atypical compared to previously seen heroes. Aside from that, listen all I came here to do was too share a scene that made me genuinely laugh and find joy. Continue the joy, and hope you find some good laughs too. Have a happy new year!

Hank Pym fears losing the suit to a Stark. Knowing what chaos they can do with the technology and the capacity of Pym Particles. You could see such fear when he realizes the warehouse belongs to Stark Industries (now upgraded to Avengers Base). And I don’t think he knows that the Starks gave up their sales on War tech. . .

I really liked this fight, because it's the rare complete transporting of a comic-book style "what if X fought Y" fight. Usually fights in these movies are folks with similar powers fighting each other, or at least one of them have had their powers DESIGNED to interact with the protagonist's in a particular way, OR it's just simple super strength and martial arts. This was a fun match-up because it's two pretty much incomparable sets of abilities, neither of which were designed to fight the other, so you get the really inventive feeling of creators stepping through and "discovering" how the fight "would" go. I'm doing an awful job explaining this.
