Smh, every time someone gets a one punch KO in this sport, there's always a doubter that claims it was luck. Maybe it was just a giant mismatch, did that ever cross your mind? Bader gave up over 30 lbs in weight to Renan, 11 inches shorter in reach, and was 40 years old. Bader went down face first into the canvas after the first punch from Renan. The KO was inevitable.

Ante Delija was having a 10-8 round here for sure, but I don't think that this stoppage was the right call. Usually, the reason for stopping the fight while a fighter is defending himself and not out, is when the ref realizes that if he doesn't stop it now, significant damage will build up by the end of the round / fight. Usually it's for the good of the fighter who just won't quit. The thing is that it was the end of the round, so no significant damage would have happened to Ferreira if the ref allowed it to go until the buzzer rang. In terms of competitiveness, Ferreira wasn't going to get KOed by that ground and pound and he would have survived and went fully conscious to his corner to prepare for the second round which he could have won. They definitely should rematch down the line.
