And, calling a no-contest because the ref didn't stop the fight is kind of BS too. A non-obvious tap out should be on the ref. There have been plenty of MMA issues where someone lets go too early due to a non-obvious tap, and then the tapper tries to pretend like they didn't

Just depends man. Every fighter that eats more than one or two follow-up punches after a knockdown in that video is still conscious. There aren't any egregiously late stoppages. The one against Jones is the most questionable. Stopping it a few punches earlier would have been totally justified, but at the same time Jones still appeared to get his base underneath him until he finally flattens out. Plenty of factors might cause the ref to give a fighter the benefit of the doubt for a little longer. Like a dude that's known for having a granite chin is probably going to get every opportunity to fight back before the refs calls it. Same usually goes for champions. But sometimes refs just fuck up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That 1 , 2 he throws IS VERY SIMILAR to some of the best shots AJ landed on Ngannou .. Something to think about.
@harrymail73 ай бұрын
They aren't similar. A 1-2 thrown with the timing and precision of a multiple world champion and Olympic gold medalist heavyweight boxer is far different to this.

Extremely similar. No one in the UFC has hit Ngannou like AJ has, there was nothing too hard to read and difficult angles Renan brings range, counter timing and difficult angles which was a problem against AJ And it's even worse. The boxing base is limited as you are constantly in the guard and cannot strike from all angles. Renan can stretch his reach and catch Ngannou off guard, he's never faced anything like it There is nothing like it in MMA. Aspinall is somewhat similar, but Renan has a much greater reach so he is even more indefensible. Not to mention that his legs are the biggest aberration I've ever seen in MMA. A simple knee from him is two meters long, it's bizarre. Ngannou has faced tough guys before but never someone this dangerous. Lewis is extremely threatening but Lewis becomes much less dangerous in perspective with Renan Lewis is slow, doesn't kick, doesn't combine blows, isn't creative so there is no proximity to danger with Renan
@harrymail73 ай бұрын
@lukewestwest I'm saying that just because he throws a 1-2. Dosent mean he can land it like AJ could. The prescion and timing of an mma fighter won't catch ngannou like a top boxer did. Nobody in Mma has ever dropped Ngannou with a 1-2. The 1-2s are in a different league.
